Its Friday, and my mom comes back home tomorrow. There's something in me that actually wants to stay with Hoseok longer, but I push that thought off to the side. I walk down the stairs to find him still in his pajamas as he heats up the leftover pizza in the microwave.
"What are you doing?" I ask, readjusting my backpack strap. "We have school, so why aren't you ready?"
"I'm not going today," He answers, getting the pizza out of the microwave when it starts beeping. He takes a bite of a slice, almost burning his mouth.
"Why not?" I eye him, walking closer to him. "You're not sick, are you?"
Without even thinking, my hand goes to his forehead, and I feel of his temperature. He doesn't feel hot, and his face has color. I pull my hand away from him. He's as healthy as can be, so why isn't he going to school?
"I'm not sick," He shakes his head, handing me the other piece of pizza on the plate. "Its a surprise where I'm going, anyways."
I bite the pizza, my suspicion of him increasing.
"If you really want to know where I'm going today," He leans in toward me and I take a step back. "Then ditch school and come with me."
"Are you suggesting that I, a straight A student, skip school?" I raise my eyebrows at him.
"You don't have to, if you don't want to," He slides past me and exits the kitchen, causing me to follow him. "But of course you'd find out where I'm going."
His feet hit the first step of the stairs, and he turns around to give me a cheeky grin. My eyes flash down to the pink watch on my wrist before I glance back up at him. I cross my arms over my chest and play coy.
"Well... Its already past time for me to leave..." I mumble, keeping my eyes on the ground.
"Oh really?" He leans on the stairway railing, putting a hand on his hip.
"...So if I left now I'd probably be late anyways... So I guess I'll go with you." This makes his grin widen until he shows his gums.
"I'll be getting ready!" He bounces up the stairs, leaving me to sit on the couch and wait for him. A few minutes later, he comes down, wearing a casual long sleeve shirt and jeans. I leave my backpack on the couch as I follow him out the door, getting into the passenger side of his car.
His hair is brushed down, and it sashays around freely with each move he makes. The key gets put into the ignition, and the car purrs to life.
"Can you at least tell me where we're going?" I ask, pulling out my phone and playing a game on it. Its strange how comfortable I've gotten around him in just the short time I've personally known him.
"Its kind of like a part time job," He starts. "They only call me in when they're really busy, and I like to help them out."
"Are you sure its okay that I'm coming with you then?" I look over at him as he drives. "Won't I get in the way of you doing your job? And I'm not trained or anything so I don't know if I can help-"
"Of course you can!" He interrupts and smiles over at me for a quick second. "I have a genuine feeling that you'll be really good at it, and they'll appreciate the help!"
"Just what kind of job are you talking about?" I stare at him with wide eyes.
A few turns and miles later, and I'm aware at what kind of job he was referring to. We're currently parked at a daycare, and I look at the building. Its white, with splashes of color on the outside. There's a small playground out to the side, and the grass is freshly cut.
