It's after the daycare trip, and both me and Hoseok are sitting at a local ice cream parlor. People are bustling around inside, and a group of friends will occasionally laugh in the back at one of the tables.
Me and him sit beside each other at the bar, with each of us having our own ice cream bowl. I chose peanut butter chocolate, and he chose strawberry."
"Did you have fun today with it being the first time you've ever skipped school?" He asks, getting a spoonful of ice cream and plopping it in his mouth.
I nod. "Who knew being bad could be so much fun?" I snicker, swirling my treat around with my spoon.
"Well... I don't think you can call that being bad," He grins. "You taught an art class to five year olds."
"Okay, well it may have not been bad, but I did have fun!" I smile back at him.
What the little girl said still flashes in my head, and each time it does I become a nervous wreck. I tried to deny it, but there's no ignoring it. I like the boy that's sitting beside me. His black hair is nearly falling in his eyes, and when he grins, my heart gets in a frenzy.
The odd thing is that I can't remember when I exactly started to like him. Maybe it was when he saved me from getting attacked, or when he helped me that time I was sick. I don't really know, but I do know that my heart is definitely fluttering for him.
"Our moms come home tomorrow, right?" He asks and I nod. "How sad... my Yuna moves back into her house... I'll be lonely again."
He was probably just joking, but I took it that he was going to miss me when I went back home.
"I'm always a window tap away!" I tap on his bicep, a sly excuse to feel of his muscle.
"Are you giving me permission to break into your house again?" He leans in, a cheeky grin on his features.
"You can't break in!" I scold him, suddenly becoming shy. "I- I may invite you over, though."
"Ooh," He acts surprised. "Are you going to show me more of your drawings?"
"If you want to," I take a bite of ice cream, finishing off my bowl.
"Yes!" He gives a small cheer to himself and I can't help but to stare at him. He's so handsome. How did I not fall for him sooner?
We both walk out of the parlor together, and once we're outside, he turns to me. I look up at him, only now noticing the height difference in between us.
"I have to run some errands," He puts his hands in his pockets. "Can you go ahead home without me?"
I nod, feeling a little sad that I won't get to hitch a ride with him. Once we part our ways again, I head to his house. I find the spare key hidden in the potted plant on the front porch, and I go inside, trudging up the stairs to my room.
My body gets sprawled out on the bed, and my hand clutches my chest. My face is hot and my heart is racing, and if I didn't know I was flustered, I'd be convinced that I was sick.
"He's so perfect," I put my hands on my cheeks, trying to cool them off. "Why is he so perfect?"
I begin rolling back and forth on the mattress, not realizing that I rolled too far. I end up falling off the bed, and my butt hits the floor with a thud. I ache, before standing up and sitting back on the bed.
"What if he kisses me?" I ask myself and immediately giggle, the thought making me shy. "What if I was his girlfriend? Would he take me on dates and cuddle together?"
