Chapter 8

After returning from the River Village trip, both Zhao and Shen Wei is overwhelm with work. As the semester is about to end, Zhao is busy preparing the exams for the many courses that he teaches. With the critical time approaching, the students are swamping his office almost all the time. When one group leaves, another would instantaneously enters. 

Many cases are occurring and the police department is also busy with audits from the international organization which Shen Wei has no choice but to be present at all times, in which his team is also required as well. They have been working non-stop for the past month. Everyone is reaching their limits.

However, Shen Wei makes sure that he sends his beloved a message everyday. He needs to be sure that Zhao will not forget about him since they don't have time to meet.

The police director informs about the assignment to be completed before they are given a one week vacation as a reward for the perfect evaluation from the audit. Everyone can hardly wait for their hard earned break especially Shen Wei who plans to go directly to the university after his work to pick up Zhao and spend the night with him as well as the rest of the week.

"Prof. Zhao, I'll be picking you up at 6 p.m. today after I go kick some drug traffickers asses so be ready, okay?" Shen Wei calls to make his appointment with Zhao.

"You should focus on your work, Chief Shen. You shouldn't be worrying about picking me up."

"No can do. Wait for me okay?"

"Okay. Please be careful."

"Gotta go, muah."

To be honest, Zhao also misses the shameless teasing from Shen Wei although he receives his message everyday. Hearing or meeting the actual person increase the sensation by multiple folds. Just the thought of meeting him soon can make a smile makes its way onto his lip.

"You look very happy p-professor, was that Chief S-Shen?" Guo teases his professor.

"I'll deduct your points for that Guo." Zhao calmly threatens him.

"I'm s-s-sorry professor!! P-please don't d-deduct them. Y-you're exam is already hard to get good s-score!" Guo shrieks and panics as he can't afford to lose any points. Then he scurries out of Zhao's office who just chuckle at his student.

The plan is to have a surprise raid at a well-known ceramic factory which an undercover agent discovered that it's a front cover for manufacturing and smuggling illegal substance, in this case: crystal meth. This is a joint cooperation between the special task force and SID as the local staffs are more familiar with the area which would be great help to the task force. Of course, this mission deals with drug lord, Lu Fei, who has no fear for the authorities in which he'll likely fight back. Shen Wei instruct his team to strictly follow the orders; if he tells them to run, they're to run without any question and never turn back. All of them are to keep themselves safe at all cost; once it's too much to handle, just get out of there as they weren't trained specifically for these types of situation.

A drug lord with his back against the wall is the last thing Shen Wei wants, but here they are facing each other. Chu is injured with blood spilling out of a stab wound to the abdomen after fighting with a horde of underlings then the big boss. Luckily, Shen Wei arrive just in time before Chu gets another stab from losing his balance unexpectedly but he still drop down directly into the open sacks of fine powdered meths.

"Try to get out of it! Don't let the drugs get into your body!" Shen Wei yells at Chu.

The reckless chief is able to knock out the blade from the angry Lu Fei and now they are smashing fist after fist at one another. Their skills are relatively the same level as they can dodge and block, not yet landing a full fist on the other man. Then Lu Fei changes his method and throws the powdered meth nearby into the air with the intention to drug the reckless chief and obstruct his vision with the scattered particles in the air.
