Chapter 5

After the night of Shen Wei's confession, Zhao doesn't see him again. It's been like this for the whole week. Maybe he's busy, maybe he's avoiding him, or maybe some other reasons unknown to him. Whatever the reason may be, it's somehow making Zhao a little nervous.

His confession has been on Zhao's mind for the pass 3 days straight. He's thinking about it thoroughly and reach the conclusion that he has probably fell in love with him already. Similar to what he said, he also fell in love in a short period of time, not that he has experience in these kinds of things. But Shen Wei make him feel complete which is sufficient reason for him to conclude it as love and willing to get into a relationship. Too bad that Shen Wei is no where to be seen, so Zhao won't be telling and plans to tease him before giving him his answer.

On the other hand, Shen Wei secretly listen to Zhao's footstep leaving for work every morning. He really wants to see him but currently he's being a coward. Rejection is something he has never fear before until meeting Zhao. Shen Wei believes the possibility of the answer 'yes' is 99%, but there's still that 1%. His world would crumble to pieces if he is to be rejected by him. That's why he's intentionally avoiding him as he can't face him right now. Well, not until he finds a way to cope with it.

The people that would be directly impact by Shen Wei is no other than his team. But this time, it's even worse than the previous.

"What's with him this time? Why is it going downhill every week? Is he going through menopause or something?" Zhu Hong complains.

"Didn't he said that the professor is now living right across from him? Shouldn't he be on cloud nine?" Lin Jing curiously asks.

"Yeah, he did say that." Da Qing recalls back to when the chief happily mentioned it last week.

Everyone is giving it some thoughts trying to understand why their chief is so down. Right then, Lin Jing clicks within his head. "Maybe...just maybe.. he was.... rejected by the professor?"

The moment the words left Lin Jing's mouth, everyone turns pale and gradually takes steps away from him. Seeing the reaction of his teammates, he close his eyes and tries to step forward towards the rest. However, a cold white hand instantly grabs his shoulder firmly. "Lin Jing... WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY!!??" The voice filled with killing intent.

Even without turning back he can feel the deathly glare that is stabbing through his back making him trembling in fear and begging for his life. "I-I-I'm s-sorry, Ch-ch-chief ...... CHIEF!!!" And that was the last thing the team heard from Lin Jing.

Knock, knock.

Knock, knock.

Chu needs Shen Wei to sign some important documents and remembers that he hasn't left his office yet, but there's no response when he already knocked many times. Needing to be sure that the chief is really not in, he open the door and peek inside. The chief is in alright but he's slump over his desk, not moving. Chu snickers as he thinks the chief is sleeping in the office again, and goes in to wake him up. "Chief Shen, I need you to sign some documents." Chu informs, yet still no response.

Normally, Shen Wei would have throw a tantrum for disturbing his sleep, but not today. So he gets closer to see only to find the chief in pain. The document is thrown onto the floor as Chu goes in to help him. Shen Wei face pales with cold-sweats on his forehead and his hands clutching his stomach.

"Hey Chief, what's wrong with you?"

"Just an old stomachache dropping in." He answers but his voice so hoarse that it can barely be heard.

"I'll take you to the hospital." Chu informs but immediately rejected by the chief. He really hates going to the hospital. So no matter how Chu persuade him, he stubbornly refuse.
