"Can you stop staring at me?" Zhao questions as Shen Wei just sits there watching him and barely blinks.
"No. Like I told you I really hate the hospital and it makes me feel terrible. But when I watch you, I forget all about them and feel a lot better." Even though it doesn't really sound convincing yet it's the actual truth.
As Shen Wei reaches for Zhao's chin to tilt his head up so their eyes can meet, there's a knock on the door and Dr. Cheng enters with a chart in her hand. When she looks up from the chart, Shen Wei is frowning at her and Zhao is beet red in the chair next to the bed.
"Uh ... Did I interrupt something?" She cautiously asks based on the reaction that is displayed right before her.
"No! Not at all." Zhao quickly cuts in before Shen Wei says anything embarrassing.
"Ookay but Chief Shen seems to have something else on his mind though."
"Ignore him." Zhao cuts in again as Shen Wei was opening his mouth to say something.
"I'm not going to intervene with you two love birds but please refrain from passionate flirting as you're still in the hospital. Am I clear Prof. Zhao Yunlan?" She teases her friend who continues to blush. "Now, let's get back to serious stuffs. It seems that the drug doesn't have much effect on you Chief Shen. Other than the elevated temperature and increase blood pressure which are still in the acceptable range."
"Is that a good thing? More importantly, can I go home? I hate hospitals and I'm itching to leave." Shen Wei expresses his urge to get out of there.
"Well ... Considering from your condition ... it should be okay to leave. But I suggest that you have someone watch over you 24/7 for another 2 days just to be sure."
Shen Wei glance towards Zhao then an idea pop up in his mind. "Unfortunately, I'm a single man with no one. I live alone and some of my team was hurt and resting ... " He purposely trails off and giving Zhao a sad gaze with his big round eyes.
"Um ... I'll watch over him." Zhao softly offers his assistance.
"You don't have classes?" Shen Wei questions while trying to keep a straight face.
"It's exam period, I'm not required to be at the university until the exams are over which would be in the next 2 weeks."
"Thank you so much Prof. Zhao." Shen Wei thanks him with glee and turn to Dr. Cheng. "Can I leave now?"
"Are you eager to leave because you hate the hospital or you want to be alone with your caretaker?" She mocks him.
"Oh ... you know me so well doctor or was I too obvious?"
"You aren't exactly hiding your flirts on my friend. However, my friend is an innocent boy without any experience. So please go easy on him."
"Not at all, you have no idea that your friend here have a lot of hidden talents. He's actually a wolf."
"Oh, is that so? He never showed me that side of him when we were students."
Suddenly Zhao clears his throat to get attention from the two people that seems to be having fun taunting him. "I'm still right here if you both haven't notice."
The discharge process takes up quite a lot of time; it's almost 6 p.m. when they are about to leave the hospital.
"Do you want to eat something before going home?" Zhao asks since it's getting late and about time to have dinner.
"Nope, I want you ... I mean I want your cooking." He unintentionally teases the professor. Nevertheless, he truly misses Zhao's cooking during the whole month that they don't meet. The food he eats elsewhere can't even be compared to the delicious dishes made by Zhao.
