Keezia was being rained on. It was a couple of days later and her cramps were getting better. She had decided to go to school today as she knew she was missing out on important work for her up and coming internals. She was waiting with a few other students for the bus to come after school. Most of the time she would go to school with Yabbi but Yabbi had a singing practice. Joloshua and Joshua also had sport practice too. Normally she would ride a bike, cause she was fit like that and super sporty, but it was raining today and Keezia was told over and over again by Lytton to catch the bus instead. He didn't want her to get sick.
So there she stood, next to Emumma the Ellama, and a group of other girls that took the bus too. There was Father Neil, Mother Emily (Who has an amazing book on Wattpad called The crazy girl which you should all read ;)) Grandma Maia, (who was also Mother Maia because she adopted Tabitha from Father Neil and Mother Emily after they had 60 other kids, but they all died, Tabitha ate one of them, a few were catapulted into the sky, many dropped, you get the point) and Great Grandma Geena who was Grandma Maia's mother. Grandma Maia also had a thing with her son in law, Father Neil, but that's supposed to be a secret.
"I hate living in this town," Mumbles Emumma as she shivers.
"Let's huddle like penguins to keep warm." Suggests Mother Maia and the group huddle together. Shivering from the rain and the wind.
"I have an umbrella don't worry." States Great Grandma Geena as she whips one out of her bag and begins to shelter all the others.
"Where is the bus?" Questions Father Neil while rubbing a warm hand on Mother Emily's back.
"It's raining so it may be running late I think,"
Soon enough the bus pulled up and the girls shoved to get on first, I mean it was raining, and they were all soaking wet.
Eventually, they were all seated near the front of the bus and the bus was chugging to the station. No, it wasn't a train, but the bus did chug and the main terminal was pretty much a station.
The bus was nice and cosy. With an amazing bus driver named July. July was cool. She had pink hair and would sing along loudly when bops would come on on the radio. She was the best.
The group of girls were currently complaining about their school work when the bus pulled over outside the private boy's school on the other side of town. "Cover your knees girls!" Mother Emily shouted, and everyone checked to see if their dress covered their knees. It is a proven fact that if your knees are showing when you drive past the private boy's school on the bus that you are pregnant. Very true fact.
The bus doors opened and a rush of cold wind entered the vehicle. Groans of complaint erupted from the girl's mouths like lava from a volcano. John, a boy that went to the same intermediate school as most of the girls on the bus, but didn't really remember, jumped on with an enthusiastic smile.
As the bus drove around town one by one the girls would hop off. Waving enthusiastically to those that were left on. Soon, it was time for Emumma the Ellama and Keezia to hop off. The two girls began to walk off the bus but were suddenly stopped by John. He looked at Keezia funnily.
"You look very familiar," John states. Keezia smiles at him. "because I am John, because I am,"
The two girls then walked off the bus and Keezia waved to the girls still on the bus as it drove off. She then looked toward Emumma who looked like she was about to burst. All of a sudden she broke and was laughing like a hyena.
"What are you laughing at?" Questioned Keezia bewildered.
"You-you said, you said, b-because I am John, because I am, do you know how-how much you sound like a murderer?" Emumma was dying of laughter and Keezia rolled her eyes.
"It wasn't that bad."
"Keez you should have seen his face, he looked terrified." Keezia was annoyed.
"I wasn't that bad was I?"
"You sounded insane,"
"Oh,"
"Yeah,"
"So...... who are you gonna go to the dance with?" Questioned Keezia. Suddenly changing the topic.
"Well I was talking to Edna and she wants us to go to a family reunion with her this weekend, she said one of her cousins was really cute and that we would probably hit it off. So I was thinking of asking him."
"But you don't even know him," Keezia states confused.
"Hey, but who do you really think will want to go with me?"
Keezia raises an eyebrow. "Belief in yourself, you are amazing and never doubt yourself,"
"You too Keez, but I mean, you have two guys after you anyway so..."
"What are you talking about?"
"Lytton and Nevada? You know them?"
"Of course I do,"
"How oblivious are you?" Wonders Emumma aloud.
"What do you mean?" Keezia asks confusion written clearly on her face.
"Nevermind, you will figure out soon enough." Emumma dismisses Keezia's onslaught of questions and her brain begins to jumble in confusion. Eventually, it comes to the time where the girls split to walk to their own houses and the two teenagers bid each other goodbye.
Keezia wanders along the street to her house, thinking about how not that long ago she didn't have many close friends if any, and now look at her. She has a group of friends where every time they hang out it's hard to tell who's there and who's not. She's happy she met the gang. And she is really happy she met Lytton. With a new found happiness Keezia skips home to her family. Excited for everything to come, even if it means her having to go out of her comfort zone more often then not. She was ready. She didn't want to hide away her true self. She wants to show the world who Keezia Gregory is, and that's exactly what she's gonna do.
