Keezia was little. Was the realization the group finally came to as the all stood side by side looking in the mirror. All the group were dressed up in fancy dresses and suits, ready to get to Edna's family reunion. Make up had been done. Nails polished. Lips glossed. Eyes shadowed. Faces blushed. Everyone was ready to party. Drink so much alcohol they would permanently have the taste in their mouths. After all the adults left of course.
The group were taking photos. Everyone was there besides Edna, as she was already there helping to set up. And Lytton, who was on his way to pick Keezia up for a date. There was still an hour and a half before the actual dinner.
Lytton was nervously pacing in front of the front door. Not knowing whether to knock or not. He couldn't pinpoint exactly why he was nervous. He had spoken to Keezia countless times before. Times when they were supposed to be doing homework at two in the morning. Or other times when they went to the park to play football with her family. But this time was different. This time they were both dressed up. And although Lytton believed Keezia was beautiful all the time, he knew she would be breathtaking in an elegant dress. He hoped she wouldn't layer her face in makeup like many other girls did.
Finally, the boy decided to ring the bell, the sound making everyone inside the house fall silent for a split second.
"HE'S HERE!" Lytton heard Martin scream. He chuckled slightly at the girls friend. The boy standing outside could hear movement inside the house and the door swung open to reveal Emumma the Ellama and Yabbi. Smiling mischievously. And Martin standing a few feet behind them, trying to display a serious facial expression.
"You better have her back by seven mister," Martin spoke and Lytton raised an eyebrow.
"We're going to the family reunion with you after this. It's just a small dinner date." Lytton replied while Martin nodded in response.
"HEAR THAT KEEZIA? IT'S A DINNER DATE!" Emumma the Ellama screamed into the house. Lytton chuckled quietly. They could all hear a loud groan coming from the girl. Lytton looked down at his feet and smiled. When he looked back up he saw the girl emerge from her room. Her hair down in soft waves, resting on her shoulders and back. Keezia was wearing a soft yellow dress. In some lights it appeared gold giving her an angelic look. Lytton smiled warmly.
No make up.
Keezia shoved three of her friends out of the way and made her way to the boy. Lytton could see behind her the rest of their friends had emerged from her room. All wonderfully dressed. Lytton reached for her soft and small hand. Grasping it lightly in his own before placing and gentle kiss on top. Keezia rolled her eyes as he smiled up at her.
"I might have to report you to the police for you have stolen my breath," Emumma the Ellama snorted in the background at Lytton's corny pick up line.
Keezia laughed at the boy and took her hand away from his, instead chosing to ruffle his hair. Lytton pouted at her.
"I put gel in just for you," The boy whined and Keezia raised an eyebrow at him.
"Well I don't like guys with gel in their hair," Keezia replied while turning back around to grab her coat on the hanger.
"Well then does any one want seven bottles of hair gel?" Lytton questioned while looking at the group.
The looked at him confused. "Why do you have seven bottles of hair gel?"
"I didn't know which one to buy!" He yelled defensively.
"Welp, we will be going now," Keezia stated, grabbing Lytton's hand and walking down the steps.
"HAVE FUN YOU TWO!"
"DON'T DO ANYTHING I WOULDN'T DO!"
"TAP IT BEFORE YOU WRAP IT!"
"IDIOT IT'S WRAP IT BEFORE YOU TAP IT!"
"Don't mix those two up,"
"I want a rap, I want a bap, I'm gonna give you a slap, Look at that bum flap, That was a demo for my first song on my album. My rapper identity is LIL EM&EM. Buy my new album, out soon on etunes,"
"Let's leave now before it gets even weirder,"
"Good idea,"
