"Come on, come on!"

Kathryn had been playing Super Smash Bros ultimate: World of light for almost half an hour, trying to get past the Funky Kong master spirit. The level was littered with Bullet Bills, only Captain Falcon was left, and she was determined to win. She was playing as Luigi, her favorite character in the Mario universe.

Up smash, punch, punch, normal smash, down smash. Luigi soon fell out of the ring.

"Defeat" the announcer's voice rang

"DANG IT!!" She screamed

8 attempts at winning that level and she still couldn't beat it. It was absolutely infuriating her.

She turned off the switch and put it on its charger in her sister's room before going back to her room and sitting down, putting her head in her hands. That game was fun, but that one level was really difficult, even though it was on normal difficulty.

She sighed and kept her head in her hands, trying to calm down. That game made her so mad when she lost and yet she couldn't stop playing it. Why this was, she didn't know and she didn't care. She loved that game too much to give up on it. She was just gonna try again once she cooled off.

She turned on her phone, ready to go to Discord and try to contact her friend Leah, when she saw an odd weather warning on the screen.

Tornado heading down 14th Avenue

This alone was odd because, as far as she knew, tornadoes don't happen in Arizona, at least not that she knew. Kathryn just shrugged it off, thinking it was an error in the weather predicting system on her phone, and just closed the warning.

That's when she heard it...

The faint sound of rushing wind soon reached Kathryn's ears as she grabbed her phone to try and text her friend Leah, who had disappeared a few years ago. She frowned at this, quickly shoved her phone into her purse and zipped it up before rushing outside.

What she saw scared her. Rushing towards her house was an absolutely humongous tornado. It was coming down the left side of the street, heading straight for her house. At the very least the rest of her family was out and about somewhere, so they wouldn't get hurt, but if she got caught in this thing, she'd be done for.

She grew scared. No. Scared was an understatement, she grew absolutely terrified. Before she knew what was happening, she quickly broke into a run. She ran and ran and ran with all the might that her legs could muster to get her away from the tornado...

...but didn't work.

It took only ten seconds for Kathryn to get caught up in the twister, unable to get back onto the ground. Before long, she was carried away by the tornado. Before she could process what was happening, a hard and heavy object hit the back of her head, causing her to black out.

The sound birds chirping slowly allowed Kathryn to wake up. With a groan, she stood up, holding the back of her head where it still hurt, and looked around. She seemed to be in a wooded area, lined with tall trees. Nothing like this was in Phoenix, so she knew that she was nowhere near home. Had the tornado blown her all the way to Flagstaff?

Kathryn took a good look around for someone, anyone who could help her. There didn't seem to be anybody for miles. She looked down at herself. Her purse was still on, nothing about her seemed physically damaged. She opened her purse to see that everything was in tact. Everything was in it's place. She sighed, knowing that she may be able to contact her family.

Without much of an option, she turned to the left and began to wander around the forest, trying to find her way out. As she kept moving, the sun seemed to be getting lower and lower in the sky.

The air around her began to grow colder and colder with each passing moment, making her shiver. Kathryn was never one for super cold weather, and she really didn't want to be out in the middle of nowhere at night. She continued onward for almost an hour, soon feeling like she was going in circles. What was going on? The further she moved, the colder and darker it got, which began to scare Kathryn as she wasn't used to being outside of a building at this time of night unless it was at camp.

SNAP!

Kathryn whipped her head around to see a flashlight and two figures coming towards her. She quickly ducked into a near by bush and listened for them to leave. Instead, she heard a conversation as the figures stopped in front of her bush:

"Where'd it go?" One with a slightly high-pitched voice said

"Not sure, Thomas. It couldn't have gone too far, right?" One with a lower voice said

"Who knows? Maybe it has super speed or something, Dan" The one called Thomas answered

"Dude, that's impossible without an invincibility star. You know that, right?" The one named Dan said

"You know I'm new to this stuff, right?" Thomas asked

Kathryn kept perfectly still as the two of them kept chattering. She had never felt this terrified in all her life. Who were these people? Who or what were they looking for? Were they after her?

Kathryn slowly started to peek out from behind the bush only to have one of the figures jump on her and pin her to the ground with her hands behind her back. She trued to struggle, but this guy was really strong. Just who were these guys?

"I got her!" The voice of Dan said from right on top of her

"I got some makeshift rope!" Thomas said, coming up to them

Kathryn thrashed about as hard as she could, but she wasn't able to budge out of Dan's grip as he used a bunch of vines to tie her up. Once her wrists were tied tightly together, she was pulled to her knees as a bag was placed over her head, blinding her. She quickly got pulled to her feet and the two kidnappers started to lead her somewhere.

"Look, boss! We found another one!" Thomas yelled

"WHAT!? That's not possible!" Said a high-pitched, familiar female voice

"Bring it to me!" Said a deep, intimidating voice

Kathryn could feel herself being pushed forward before being pushed into a knee-sitting position. The bag was ripped off her head so she would be forced to see her captor...

...And what she saw really shocked her.
