Chapter 5: Problems

At least breakfast tasted good, right?

Leah made a big batch of fluffy pancakes and they tasted amazing. Kathryn ate quite a bit, more than all of them by two cakes. Inter-dimensional travel really does a number on your appetite. Either way, Luigi promised to show Kathryn around the city while Mario and Leah went to help Rosalina with the baby lumas. Kathryn didn't object, as she was curious about this world she found herself in. She wanted to explore it. Luigi was at least happy that he'd get to distract his mind from his breakup...

...or so he thought.

Upon arriving in Toad Town's park area, the duo saw a familiar woman in an orange dress come up to them. Daisy had a slight look of annoyance on her face, which Luigi knew from experience was never a good thing. She approached them and spoke in a honey-coated, sugary tone.

"Hey Luigi~" She greeted

"Daisy..." Luigi said in a dark tone

Kathryn started feeling nervous. She really didn't like confrontations.

"I see you found a new girl to be with, huh?" Daisy retorted

"I'm just showing her around, Daisy. She's kinda new in town" Luigi shot back with venom in his voice

"I figured. So, you got a name, lady?" Daisy asked with an intimidating expression of hate on her face

"U-U-U-Uuuhhhh...Kathryn" The short-haired brunet squeaked out

"Cool. Lemme guess: You're staying with Luigi?" Daisy asked

Kathryn barely nodded. Daisy was really scaring her, but...wasn't she supposed to be nicer than this?

"And? You an item with Luigi?" Daisy asked with a sneer

Kathryn blushed and shook her head. Daisy was a little scarier than she thought. Note to self, don't get on her bad side.

"Right, if you'll excuse me" Daisy said before leaving

As she left, she pushed Kathryn down to the ground. Of course, Luigi quickly went to aid her as the flower princess vanished in the crowd. Both of them were left majorly confused. Why did Daisy act like that? Maybe she was bitter about the break up? Either way, that behavior wasn't very befitting for a princess.

Once Kathryn got to her feet, they continued thier tour of the kingdom, going out for lunch and even meeting Princess Peach, who seemed to get along pretty well with Kathryn. Eventually, as the tour ended and as dusk approached, Luigi and Kathryn had to head home. They still couldn't stop thinking about that interaction with Daisy. What was her deal? Well, one thing was for sure...

...they hoped she wouldn't be too much of a problem.
