"Table for 2 please" Joseph says
"Okay right this way sir"
We walk through a dimly lit restaurant. There's lightbulbs attached to wires hanging from the ceiling & the windows are open so that you can see the sunset through them. Its gorgeous.
"Here you go sir" the waiter says while setting down two menus
"Thank you" Joseph replies
I go to grab my chair but Joseph beats me to it & pulls it out for me.
"I could've done that ya know" I say to him as im lowering myself into my seat
"You're my princess. You deserve royalty" he says while bending down to peck my cheek
'He's so sweet. He knows how to treat a woman. His mama taught him well' I think to myself while trying to hide my smile
"How did I get so lucky?" I ask him
"I keep asking myself the same thing" he smiles
I reach across the table and grab his hand. I intertwine our fingers together. He begins to rub the back of my hand with his free hand. I glance out the window & see the sun setting.
"Joseph look! Its beautiful" I exclaim
"Yes. It is babe" he says as he continues to rub my hand
"I've never seen anything like it. This one is just so unique. But in a good way" I say still staring at the sunset
"It is isn't it" he says
Josephs POV;
She reaches for my hand & begins to lace our fingers together. She plays with my fingers for a while but stops. I begin to rub the back of her hand & she looks out the window.
"Joseph look! Its gorgeous" she says
"Yes. It is babe" I reply to her
"I've never seen anything like it. This one is just so unique. But in a good way" she says smiling at the sunset
"It is isn't it" I say smiling at her
I couldn't stop looking at her. She was so beautiful in those moments. The way her eyes lit up when she smiled toward the sunset. I'm sure the sunset was as gorgeous as she said it was, but I thought she was more gorgeous than it.
She turns toward me while I'm still smiling at her.
"What?" She asks
"I didn't look at the sunset" I say
"But!! Why not?! It was so pretty you missed it.." She says
"Because I was too busy looking at you. You're so beautiful Veronica" I say kissing her hand
"Oh my gosh Joseph stop you're so corny" she says laughing
"I'm serious babe. You thought the sunset was beautiful but I thought you were more beautiful" I say
She seems shocked at first but then she smiles back at me & starts playing with my fingers again.
