Gray POV
We finally arrived at Howling Moon's territory. There were mixed scents, as in not just wolf. Of course, to be expected of Aurora. She was always one for diversity.
Even as these thoughts coursed through my head, I could only feel betrayal. Were we not good enough? Not helpful enough? Not... family enough? Didn't we matter too?
It was like Ur (spelling?) was gone again. Like Erza had been captured again. Except this time, there was no return. No way to go back, to change time.
The cold nighttime air bothered me. It wasn't the cold, I knew that. After all, I was a descendant of Frigid. Such a weird name, I know. It was like his parents knew he would become the Ice Wolf.
No, not the cold. It was the stench of death. Of blood and screams. When she was with us, sure, we could still smell it. But it was very faint. But now, it was strong, making me woozy. And... something else.
I transformed to human, where my senses dulled a little. Thank Anna. He couldn't stand it. Looking around, he saw that most of his companions had turned back into human, even Lucy. Sometimes super senses didn't help.
Twisting pillars and clinging vines were scattered everywhere; a sense of wildness was in the air (hey that rhymes).
Of course, there was danger. An invisible warning sign that triggered a sixth sense, that made our hair stand on end.
Danger, the place screamed. Leave or die.
Lol nah I would like to live. And have my friends back.
So, we did what any normal wolf who wants to save their friends from a former friend would do. We stepped into their territory.
Lucy POV
As soon as we stepped forward, we were split. Like, the millisecond we were on their territory.
Wolves and vampires and creatures came out of nowhere, too many for even me to fight. I wish I could say that we fought bravely and prevailed, we won the impossible fight because we are just that awesome, but that would be lying.
We turned tail and ran. Actually, scampered. Too late, my panicked brain realized that we had gotten split. Too late, I realized that there was no one chasing us. We separated on our own.
Even though she was our enemy, I respected Aurora. Using instinct against us. Our own logic to beat us.
"Lu?"
I sucked in a breath. That couldn't be...
"Levy?"
I turned around. Where was she?
"Lu-Chan!" I heard again.
This time, I was panicking. What was happening? Where was Levy? Where was the rest of the pack?
There she was! Blue hair, tiny frame. Shoulders hunched, eyes wide.
"Levy!" I cried. "I'm coming!"
I turned into my wolf form. Scents overwhelmed me. My eyes couldn't see through the mist. The greenish mist.
Wait, the mist...
Sh**. It was causing hallucinations. It started the moment we stepped near the territory. No wonder there was such a strong scent of death! It was covering up the mist.
