“Yes father, you asked to see me?” I asked my father after Ella had run off again. “I want you to follow Ella into the woods today, and see who it is that she has been meeting there. Also, find out any information about this person, and come back to me before she does. That is all.” And just like that, he dismissed me. I rolled my eyes but did as my father asked. Thankfully, Ella wasn’t too far ahead of me, so I was able to keep up fairly well, even in my heels. When Ella stopped running and entered a clearing with a young man, I stepped as close as possible without being seen and listened to what they were saying.
