How Shi could afford so much equipment was a mystery. She clearly didn't have a job but she could somehow afford a home to live in and a crap ton of instruments and other random things. She seemed to be quite the hoarder considering her walls and floors were adorned with random decorations. Shi lived in a shitty apartment that was pretty much falling apart. It was so full, there was barely any room to walk except for a wide open spot in the living room where a few microphones, two guitars with stands, and a drum set stood.
"You should really clean up, man," Sango suggested, almost tripping over a gnome. "What do ya mean? This is all pretty organized. All my rakes are right there, all my gnomes are right there, all my lava lamps are over in that corner, and— Well, you get my point," she said picking up one of the guitars. She grabbed a cord that dangled from the guitar and plugged it into a nearby speaker. She made sure the bright yellow bass guitar was tuned before playing a riff that was rather impressive. "Show off," Sango snickered as she sat down and adjusted the microphone. "Testing, testing," she tapped on it slightly. "Do ya know how to play?" Shi raised an eyebrow. I scoffed and hastily grabbed the guitar. "Do I know to play, that's the dumbest question I've ever been asked," I said with a cocky smirk, tuning the guitar before playing a riff not quite as flashy as hers but still satisfactory. "Ya know what actually? Hachi, Nana, go sit down on the couch right there. You're gonna be our audience," Sango said. I carefully placed the guitar back on it's stand before sitting next to Hachi. "Suggestions?" Shi asked. "Bomb Rush Blush!" Hachi exclaimed excitedly. "That's a classic."
Sango started them off with a few hits of her drums. Shi joined in with the rhythmic solo before she started singing. Hachi smiled as she sung the cute lyrics while the green inkling occasionally harmonized. Sango had a deeper singing voice than Shi, which was surprising considering the yellow inkling's voice was a lot rougher compared to her friend's smooth one. It was actually a pretty satisfying contrast.
"Looking out at me
Gettin' ready, ready, ready, ready for that
Make it out of town
Can I really, really, really, really know?"
Shi strategically picked at her guitar's strings so she could somehow make it sound like the tune of Bomb Rush Blush, a classic by Callie Cuttlefish.
"Don't let, don't let me down
But can it be?
That it's already gonna be alright?
'Cuz I really, really knew
You were mine, mine
まだまだ みう (I still have time)"
Hachi smiled once they finished the pre-chorus, giving a small smile towards Sango when she translated the last line into Octarian. We were fluent in Inklish, but hearing an inkling speak Octarian was kinda cute considering not a lot of inklings knew much of the language besides 'veemo'.
"Can't you see that I need your love?
I need you for it, for it, for it
Together for me
You lucked out, you lucky lover you
Tomorrow with you
"Let the girls see that I need your love
I will get in, get in, get in
Get in line with you
You're like the, you're like the
You're like the new melody."
Shi smiled maliciously as she practically destroyed the strings, somehow still sounding like she was playing the same song as she jammed out the solo. This time, Sango took over. Her voice was so calm and soothing, yet it was so full of energy. It kinda clashed with her usual tired expression.
"Looking out at me
Gettin' ready, ready, ready, ready for that
Make it out of town
Can I really, really, really, really know?
"Don't let, don't let me down
But can it be?
That it's already gonna be alright?
'Cuz I really, really knew
You were mine, mine
まだまだ みう!"
