"You're letting her break the barrier~," Hachi hummed as he did my makeup. "No, I'm not. She's just an acquaintance," I mumbled as I looked into Hachi's eyes. "You want us to join her band, right?" he asked. "It's not like we have anything else to do," I replied somewhat apprehensively. "Although that's true, that doesn't mean you aren't letting her and her friend in," he said. "Are you jealous because you think I won't pay attention to you anymore?" I asked bluntly. "Of course I am. But it's fine. It's okay. We'll figure something out," he said, a somewhat disappointed face tracing his features. "Hey," I grabbed his face, making sure he looks me in the eyes. "I will never let anyone get in between us. I promise," I reassured, giving him a small smile. "You're such a good sister," he smiled as I let go of his face so he can continue doing my makeup.
"Are you gonna wear your Chirpy Chips shirt?" I asked as he put some highlighter on my nose. "Nah, I'm gonna wear my Dedf1sh shirt. Of course I'm gonna wear my Chirpy Chips shirt, is that even a question?" he asked. "Good point." Once he was finished with my makeup, he stood up and gave me a small compact mirror. "I'm gonna get my outfit ready and I'm gonna pick your outfit too," he giggled, skipping to our shared closet. I rolled my eyes and stood, sitting on my bed and going on my phone.

hey, u still coming tonight?
I glanced at Hachi, who was going through my drawer to find something for me to wear.
yep, i'll be there soon
Hachi suddenly threw the outfit he wanted me to wear at my face. "Put that on," he ordered, leaving the room so I could change in privacy. I quickly changed into the clothes Hachi was making me wear. A high waisted black skirt tucked into my Chirpy Chips shirt and my signature leather jacket. I swung open the door to see Hachi, who was already in his clothes. "Come on, Nana. I'm calling a cab," he called, grabbing his phone and his wallet before opening the front door. "Wait, wait," I mumbled, slipping my phone into my pocket and grabbing my wallet and keys before closing and locking the door.

"Hey!" We both turned to the short inkling as she ran over to us. "Glad you could make it," Sango smiled as her yellow inkling friend snuck up behind her. Shi noticed the green inkling talking to us so she looked at us and put her finger to her lips. "Hi, Shi," Sango giggled, turning around before the taller inkling could scare her. "Everytime," she sighed. "Yo, since when do you have friends?" she asked, nodding towards Hachi and me. "Yo," Hachi said with a nod of his head. "You're Hachi, right?" Sango asked, holding out her hand for him to shake. He smiled and shook her hand. "I guess I forgot to introduce myself last time I saw you, my apologies," he said with a sheepish chuckle. "Oh, don't worry about that! Sango doesn't need apologies," Shi laughed.
"Hachi and Nana, this is Shi. Shi, Nana and Hachi," Sango briefly introduced, leading us to a booth. "A little blue bird told me you were a great singer," Shi said, sitting down. "I'm green," Sango muttered. "Ah, that's right. A little green squid told me you were a great singer. Before Chirpy Chips start," the yellow inkling looked over to the band who was setting up their instruments and microphones, "Mind if we hear?" Hachi smiled cockily. "I don't mind at all," he replied. "But I sound much better when I'm singing with Nana. She's great at harmonizing," he said, giving me a small smile. "Oh," I muttered. "That's alright. Let's hear it," Sango assured.
"Yo, should we sing Now or Never?" Hachi whispered in my ear. "Sure," I whispered back. "Ahem."
Hachi sang the lyrics and I harmonized on the many "La's" in the song. Eventually, Sango and Shi joined in on the harmonization. Sure enough, the green inkling was right about her friend's vocal range; it was a pretty wide range and just perfect for backup. At the time being, she was singing bass, Hachi was on tenor, Sango was going alto, and I was working on the soprano. Everyone in the cafe had their eyes on us, even the Chirpy Chips. The well known band smiled at us. "Not bad," one of them shouted at us. We all stopped and laughed. "Damn, you guys have to join our band!" Shi insisted. Hachi and I glanced at each other. "We're down," we said at the same time.
"Awesome!" Shi exclaimed with a bright smile. "What's the name of your band anyway?" Hachi asked, placing his elbows on the table and leaning his head on his hands. "Walk the Plank," Sango said with a lazy smile. "Huh. Not a bad name," Hachi complimented. "I came up with it," Shi claimed with a cocky smile. "Sure," the green inkling rolled her eyes. "You guys want anything to drink?" she offered. "Nah, we should definitely go out to Kraken Bar after the concert though," Hachi suggested. "Aye, I like your style, man!" Shi gave him a mischievous smile. "Concert's startin'," Sango said, nodding to the Chirpy Chips.
"Ayo! I'm Paruko, lead singer of the Chirpy Chips! We're glad to be entertaining for you all tonight!" The sea anemone smiled brightly as everyone cheered. "Before we start, can we hear it for Noijī, Raian, and Shikaku? They've been working their asses off these past few weeks just to get this performance perfect!" she gestured to her band mates, who smiled and gave a small wave. "Alright, y'all ready!?"

"Drinks are on me!" Shi laughed. "You say that then you make me pay," Sango said with a sigh. I giggled as Hachi called a cab for the four of us. "So, tell me about yourself," the green inkling smiled, elbowing me gently. "You sly little— Ow!" The yellow inkling shrieked as Sango kicked her shin. "So?" I thought about my choice of wording before saying, "Well, there isn't much to tell. Hachi and I lived on our own ever since, well, the beginning. The octoling that's supposedly our mother didn't exactly want us, so she kinda just dropped us off at the orphanage. Hachi and I didn't talk to anyone but each other," I explained. "We're inseparable," Hachi said with a smile. "Mhm, anyway. You two are the first people we've ever actually had a full blown conversation with."
"Damn, that makes us, like, special or something, right?" Shi said with a bright smile. I hesitated before nodding. "Sure."
"Taxi's here," Hachi noted as a yellow cab pulled up. Sango opened the door for all of us and followed behind once we were all inside. "So, what's so great about Kraken?" Shi asked Hachi. "Oh, I just," he glanced out the window, "I just like it there." The rest of the ride was pretty quiet except for a few jokes cracked by Shi, of course.
When we arrived, Hachi excitedly jumped out of the car. He went up to the taxi driver and gave him a few bucks. "Thanks," he said with a cute wink before bubbly walking into the bar. Hachi and I were only 19 but my twin brother made fake ID's for the both of us. Shi grabbed out her fake ID as well. "How old are you two?" I asked before approaching the bouncer. "I'm 20, Shi's 19," Sango said in a whisper as she whipped out a fake ID of her own. The bouncer checked our ID's and let us in but when he got to Sango, he raised an eyebrow. "Seriously? I was here just last week, Iso Padre," she complained. "Oh, it's you again," he muttered. "I dunno, Sango..." She let out a small whine. "Bro, you're kidding right?" He snickered. "Just go."
She gave him a satisfied smile and entered. "Alright, drinks are on me."
