LOOK AFTER YOU

I curled my fingers in my lap trying to stop the shaking as I waited for the next question.

"Is this your first arrangement?" Mr Williams asked.

I nodded.

"I just entered the program, but I can assure you. I have done this before."

He made a humming sound as he looked at his wife.
She seemed to consider it for a while before she spoke,

"I'm okay with that, as long as you know what you are doing." Her husband squeezed her hand before he turned to me and spoke.

"You're hired Ms. Graham." He said smiling at me, I let out a shaky breath and returned his smile, thanking them.

Mr. Williams looked at his watch and frowned before whispering to his wife, he then turned to me, shaking my hand "It's great to have you Ms. Graham, I have no doubts you'll fit in well. Unfortunately, I have a meeting I'm pretty sure I'm late for. So I'll have to go." I nodded "And thank you again Mr Williams,"

I turned to his wife,

"And you Mrs. Williams, thank you both." We watched him exit the room before Mrs Williams and I finalized the contract, signing the papers and what not.

After her husband left, Mrs Williams gave me a tour of the house.
It was a modest middle class house, fit for a middle class family. On the upper level she showed me what would be my room, if by any reason I had to stay here overnight. It was a two floor, four bed room house. There was a bathroom adjoined to each room, she pointed out her room, and the office if I needed to ask any questions.
On the lower level was the kitchen, living room, dining room and washroom.

I met their little three-year-old Katherine, that I was hired to babysit. She was in her room playing with her dolls alone when we met her. "Katherine, this is Leigh-Ann. Daddy and I decided it would be nice to have someone look after you while we're at work..." the mother looked at me, "Your new Nanny Leigh-ann will..." the little girl cut her mother off turning to me,

"Can I call you Lee?" she asked shyly.

I went to kneel before her, "Yeah, sure but can I tell you a secret?" I said in a mock whisper, her eyes brightened as she nodded her head vigorously.

I smiled,

"Only my friends call me Lee, and I have a feeling we're gonna be good friends." She beamed at me, showing her missing tooth, My smile widened naturally at the sight.

"Do you want to play dolls with me?" she asked holding out a Bratz Doll to me that was naked and had some parts of her shaded with crayons, I smiled. "I'd love to." I said as I took my seat on her large, pink, flower shaped mat.

Katherine went on to tell me each of her doll's names, and then serve me tea, at some point I glanced at the door where Mrs. Williams stood watching us with an appreciative smile on her face. She gestured that she'd be going downstairs and I nodded my head. She Probably wanted to give me and her daughter time to get to know each other.

After a while of drinking imaginary tea and having all her dolls fed and clothed, Katherine fell asleep. I gently put her to bed cleaning up the mess we made before exiting her room.

I was trying to find my way back through the house, but paused to admire the family photos that lined a wall in the hallway. I frowned leaning my head to the side as I examined a particular picture.

Before I could finish my train of thought somebody bumped into me, My hand flew up to my forehead immediately as I felt pain blossom over my forehead,
