"LOKI, Y/N, GET DOWN FROM THERE!"
Both of you almost fell from the roof of the castle when Odins voice ripped the silence apart, stopping you from escaping destiny's cruel plans and running away to Midgard. Loki looked down at you, the tension between the two of you clear to any eye. He wanted to kiss you, and you felt the same way, but not when Odin was present.
The young god teleported you two down to the ground, a little too slow at removing his arm from your waist when you were once again standing with your bare feet in the cold grass. The sun had not been up for long enough to warm it yet, but it was slowly getting there. "What in the name of the old gods do you two think you're doing? The weddings are only days away and you're still sneaking around like kids!" Dear Hell, he was mad, but, how did he know about you and Loki? You had hidden it very well, according to yourself at least... "My son, you cannot keep this going. Your bride has been looking for you and Thor has looked for lady y/n. Please, show a little decency and stay with the woman you promised and show the Asgardians you're more than the lair you're believed to be."
His words hit Loki hard, you saw it. His muscles had tightened, and his eyes were blank, tears threatening to make an appearance in the corner of his eyes. "Loki... Maybe he's right." You whispered, moving his focus to you instead of his father. "It's for the best." A weak smile was painted on your lips as you gave his hand a squeeze before letting go, sending a smile Odins way as you left. The grass was warmer now, like walking on warm sand in the summer. A shame the floors of the palace was cold and what used to be a welcoming shadow from the piercing sun, now felt like a jail cell you would never leave again.
The day of your wedding had approached, and your knees had been trembling from the moment you woke up. As if that wasn't enough, you hadn't been able to eat a thing, and no eating combined with walking restless around the castle all day for 3 days had resulted in a weight loss. Not extremely much, but enough for the others to be a little concerned about your health, but you just brushed them away whenever they asked. You didn't care about the food, you'd rather survive on water than risk puking after every meal. You felt sick, anxious, worried, mad and heartbroken. You missed Loki, but the Allfather had forbidden you two to talk together unless it was under observation, and both of your rooms were guarded at night, or well, Loki's at least. Thor was enough to watch over you, whereas Sigyn didn't have any power over the mischievous younger brother.
It had been the longest 3 days of your life, but now it was here, and you were getting ready. The makeup was done, your hair had been straightened/curled and you had just slipped into your dress. It had been sewed a little in due to your weight loss to fit perfectly, and it truly did. Under any other circumstances you would be in love with a dress so beautiful, but you simply couldn't feel anything else than a chain around your ankle, preventing you from escaping your fate.
"Y/n!" You spun around in the spot and a smile that would make even the Cheshire cat go green with jealousy. A smile painted your lips as you ran towards Loki, practically throwing yourself into his arms. You hadn't seen each other in years, and you had been so excited to get back to him. Your Loki, your prince and king to be. "I missed you so much." You mumble into his chest, breathing in his bittersweet scent and memorizing the feeling of his clothes under your fingertips. You were able to feel the gold pattern that had been sewn in his shirt, in the shape of golden snakes, a perfect match for his silver tongue. After what felt like too short you pulled away, looking up at his face. He hadn't changed much, and yet he had. His hair wasn't done as nicely as last time, you could see a few curls in the strands that had fallen into his face. "Did you just wake up?" You giggled and cupped his face with your hands, his skin still as soft as last. He really hadn't changed a bit, except for getting older. It had been at least 50 years since last, and he had definitely grown a lot, last time he was around 1.75, now he had to be at least 1.85 cm tall. "I have been awake all night my queen, I could not contain my joy. I have been looking forward to your visit." Well spoken as always, but it was true. You knew him well enough to be able to see through his lies.
Staying in the middle of the castle was too obvious and you could easily get caught, so you both went off to the gardens, hiding behind the roots of the oldest tree. As you sat there, you slowly let yourself slide down on the ground, Loki joining you only seconds after.
