Chapter 11

Another week and half gone by, Danny and Roxy became close friends though they kept secrets from each other. In that week and a half Danny went back into the ocean to visit his friend Tyler and to make sure his necklace was still good. Tyler still couldn't visit Danny above land since his grandmother, Audrey forbid any more merpeople from her clan to go on land. Although Audrey gets visions of the future, she knew she wouldn't be able to tell if anything is set in stone especially if it involves her family, grandson. One day, on Roxy's day off she saw Danny pacing as if he was going lose it or was in deep thought. Danny still paced, in his thoughts even after Roxy said his name a couple of times. Roxy then went up to Danny to stop his pacing. "What is it?" "I called you a few times but didn't hear me so I came over to-" "To slap me." "Sort of, it got you to stop pacing. Come with me." "Huh, where to?" "Just follow me." Danny followed Roxy out of the house and into the car. "So?" "You'll see when we get there." Danny quietly nodded his head and watched the scenery as Roxy drove. Danny noticed right away where they were. "What are we doing here?" "When I need to think something over, I come here... To look at the view, listening to the waves." "Listen to waves?" "When it clashes against the cliff; lets go." Danny looked back at Roxy wondering what she was thinking. When he saw Roxy go down the cave path Danny followed her as if they were tied together by string. After reaching the cave opening Roxy sat down and Danny followed suit. "Now listen or watch the view, and if you need to talk then talk I'll listen if you want me to." "I'm not sure... Whether I want to tell you what I'm thinking." "It's ok. I've actually been thinking a lot too and I think it might help." "Help?" "My point of view maybe but who knows... I have a secret." "Are you sure you want to tell me?" "Yeah, to me that secret is important, something I want tell you." Before Danny answered 'okay' he sensed Tyler, Roxy could tell something was bothering Danny but more so. Roxy looked out at the ocean trying to figure what Danny was so worked up with when she thought she try her sensing skills but too late on that. Roxy had seen the mermaid and both Tyler and Roxy knew that; Danny wasn't sure if Roxy saw. Without warning Tyler swam closer and threw one of his poisonous spikes, Roxy pushed Danny pulling off his necklace which helped him but got her glazed with the spike. With some effort Roxy pushed Danny into the water, placed the necklace around her, and sent as best as possible a telepath message to Erika. Once Roxy got in the water Danny and Tyler was conversing a little until Roxy said "Danny I feel weird." Danny swam toward Roxy looking at her carefully when he saw a small cut on her arm. "Where did you get that cut?" "That um thing that was thrown at us." "I had poison on it." "We need take her to my grandma, now!" "Danny I-" "Hush, save your strength; we'll talk later." "Danny I don't-" Danny stopped Tyler from talking with an angry glazed. "Tyler we'll talk later but right now you're going to help me get her to my grandmother." Tyler nodded his head and took Roxy's right side to help Danny and so Roxy could save her strength. "By away this is my friend Tyler the one I wanted to introduce." Roxy just nodded her head. Before reaching Audrey Erika was there in front of them. "You!" "Talk later, we're trying get her to my grandmother." "I'll swim ahead and get her." "Good idea, go!" Like lighting Erika left.
