Jaxon's POV

"So, how are things goin' with Kandice?" Trent asked me as we sat in first period. I had just walked in the classroom and sat down, after walking Kandice to class. Principal Harry got on to us in the hall for horse-playing. I was already anxious to get to lunch, so I could have her with me for the rest of the day.

"Everything is great." I told him with a smile, then something came to mind. "Hey, did Frank ever get that information I asked for." I had just remembered I asked Frank, a pack member, to get me some information about white wolves.

"Yeah, actually." Trent said, pausing as the teacher threw a stern look our way. "He turned it in to me this morning before I left. Do you wanna look through it today? After football practice, I mean."

I glanced over at him, "We have practice, today?"

He smirked, "I think you slippin' captain."

"Shut up, no I'm not." I told him, recalling the football schedule. "Damn it. I forgot about that. I gave Kandice a ride here so how is she supposed to get home?"

"She can just stay and watch with Maria." Wesley said.

I nodded. Maria does stay after sometimes to watch Wesley so she could keep Kandice company. "Well, yeah. We can go through it after practice."

Trent nodded and we started paying attention to the lesson. I could tell people were watching me and I ignored it. I was used to people watching me everyday. It was really annoying, though. I sighed again and tried to pay attention to the lesson, but my mind just kept wondering. My wolf was antsy now that Kandice wasn't by my side. He wanted her near. He wanted her near before, but now he wanted her even more and I already knew why. Our bond was stronger now that I had marked her. My wolf couldn't stop fidgeting and that made me more anxious to be next to her.

"You'll get used to it." Wesley said, quietly. I glanced over at him, confused. "Just relax. I know how it feels, after you mark your mate, the need to have her close gets stronger and you get more protective and possessive, it's even worse after you mate though. Just say stuff about her to your wolf."

I nodded at him, trying to get Justin to calm down. I kept telling him that she was fine and that she needed to focus on her lesson and that she was thinking about us right now, too. He slowly started to calm down and I could finally listen to what the teacher was saying.

Kandice's POV

I smiled as I looked over at Salem. He had been cracking jokes the whole class period and we were now in second hour. Algebra. Wes glared at Salem for some reason and he hadn't spoken the entire time we had been in here. Salem just ignored him anyway. I had a feeling they didn't like each other very much and I didn't like it. Salem had been pretty cool since I had met him. He was sweet, he joked around, he was nice, and he was cute, not that I cared, because I have Jaxon and he's all I need.

"Wes, what's wrong?" I ask as I turn to him.

He glanced over at me then at Salem, his eyes narrowing. He turned back to the front looking at the teacher. "Nothing."

My shoulders slumped. I didn't want him to be upset, he was like a brother to me and I was used to him always smiling, that's how I liked it. I glared at him, 'til he started squirming in his seat. He glanced back over to me, then swallowed, ignoring me again.

"Wesley." I stated with a stern voice. He knew I wasn't giving up and if he didn't tell me, I wasn't gonna stop 'til he spat out what he had to say.

"Kandice." Wesley said in the same tone as me, glancing over. "Would you stop lookin' at me like that? You know I don't like it."
