Chapter 8

It was just another usual day at the gym for Shōyō, the loud and energetic people running around while the less energetic people were standing in their place. In the last few weeks they had a practise match against another high school called Aoba Johsai, Shōyō had recognised some of the players as the people who came in with Kageyama that day.

He also learned about "The King" who was Kageyama and his teacher, Oikawa Tooru, who Shōyō called "Grand King". Their team had also gained two more players and a coach after that match that were on the verge of quitting the team after one of them was suspended and a fight had broken out and whatnot.

Those two players were Karasunos libero, or as Daichi likes to call him "Guardian Deity", Nishinoya Yuu while the other was Karasunos ace, Asahi Azumane. Their coach was Ukai Keishin, the grandson of former coach Ukai who had taken unnamed players, one of them being his idol, to nationals.

Many things had certainly happened over the time, but he still hadn't written to his family, not that he wasn't planning on doing it today.

The team was taking a break from constant practise when Shōyō was drinking from his water bottle while observing his teammates. He seemed to be glancing at Yamaguchi more than he did at the others. He reminded him of someone... just who? And Ennoshita as well... he was like...

"Ah!" Shōyō exclaimed almost dropping his bottle and earning the attention of his team. Damn it... learn to keep quiet, will you?

"What is it, Shō?" asked Noya, short for Nishinoya, as he approached him. He was the shortest person on the team, even shorter than Shōyō, which made hi Shōyō happy.

"Nothing... really... just remembered something...!" Shōyō said while sweating bullets, not only from practise but from accidentally saying something he wasn't supposed to.

"What did you remember?" Noya pestered as he got in Shōyōs face making him uncomfortable.

"Stop it, Nishinoya-san! Can't you see he's uncomfortable?" said Yamaguchi while trying to drag the latter from Shōyō.

"Oh, come on, Yamaguchi-kun! You're ruining the fun here! What if he was thinking about some girl? Because that would explain where he got that bracelet from..." Noya said as he smirked mischievously.

Shōyō blushed while trying to deny it but it seemed to have the opposite effect on the team.

"Ooh!! I knew it!! So, who's it?" Tanaka said as he dragged Noya back to where Shōyō was.

"Yeah, tell us! Who's the unfortunate girl?" Tsukishima smirked evilly.

"Hey! What's that supposed to mean?!" Shōyō yelled back.

"Alright, take it easy! He probably doesn't want to tell us or something. We don't even need to know..." Yamaguchi said.

"Thanks, Yamaguchi..." He's so... caring and honest just like...

"Alec..." Shōyō muttered as his eyes widened.

"Did you say something?" Ennoshita asked curiously. And Ennoshita-senpai is like Izumi and Kouji somehow...

"Ah, no, nothing...! Hey, Kageyama! Toss to me!!" I really wonder what they are doing now...

"Practise your receives first, dumbass!"

"EH?! But I want to spike!!" Shōyō jumped up and done to annoy Kageyama and he successfully did just that. What he wasn't counting on was that Kageyama would just on him to stop him from jumping.

And that's how both of them ended up on the floor with Shōyō almost struggling to breath and Kageyama on top of him. My back hurts so much...! Damn Bakageyama.
