Chapter 9

"Look at how cool my swimsuit is! It's way cooler than yours!" Noya said to Kageyama and Tanaka as the team watched. Everyone was waiting for Shōyō who was still changing.

"What's taking that shrimp so long? Why are we even waiting for him?" Tsukishima clicked his tongue.

"Patience, Tsukki..."

"Shut up Yamaguchi."

"Sorry Tsukki!"

"Sorry it took so long! I just couldn't find my lock, so I had to buy a new one!" Shōyō scratched the back of his neck.

"Come on now!! I want to swim not talk!" Noya said as his leg kept bouncing.

"Alright, let's get it!!" Shōyō said as he ran and jumped into the pool.

"Don't run!" Sugawara said with an angry and scary face.

"Wooh!!" Noya did the exact opposite of what he was supposed to do.

"Hey, stop drowning me!" Shōyō shouted as he tried to push Noya off from him who was having fun drowning him.

"Noya!!" Sugawara screeched causing the latter to laugh.

Soon enough they were all swimming and having fun.

"I want to go to the slides!!" Noya shouted as Shōyō nodded his head.

"Me too!"

"But that's not allowed... children are preferred to stay in the shallow waters unless accompanied with an adult..." Tsukishima said smugly.

"What did you say you damn blond telephone pole?! Get on my level then we'll talk!" Noya shouted with his fist shaking.

"But my back hurts when I bend down that much..." Tsukishima said with a smirk.

"Don't postpone his death Chikara! He had it coming!" Noya said as he was being held back, pretty easily, by Ennoshita who just sighed.

"Hey, Hinata... what's this?" Yamaguchi came up behind Shōyō and touched his back pointing at something.

Shōyōs eyes widened as he jumped away from Yamaguchi. His scared expression meeting Yamaguchis curious one which soon turned into worried. A few flashbacks hit him like bullets but he ignored them as much as he could.

"Ah, I'm sorry! Did that hurt?! Did I scare you that much?! I'm sorry!" Yamaguchi said as he approached Shōyō nervously.

"No, no! There's no need to apologize you just startled me, that's all! It's a scar I got when I was younger..." Shōyō said as he straightened his back.

"May I ask how you got it?" Yamaguchi asked as he cocked his head to the side.

"Only if you promise to not tell anyone... I beg of you." Shōyō said with pleading eyes as he glanced around seeing everyone was occupied with something.

"I promise on my soul!" Yamaguchi said seriously.

"Okay, that's too far but I get it..." Shōyō laughed. "You see... how should I bring it? I got it when I was really young from some bullies..." Shōyō said with half a smile. Yamaguchi gasped and engulfed Shōyō in a bone crushing hug.

"I'm sorry because I asked and touched it, I shouldn't have!"

"Dude, you're overreacting... do you know how long ago that was? Must've been at least ten years! It's long gone and I'm more than over it!" Shōyō said as he patted Yamaguchis back.

Yamaguchi released him and was met by a big smile which caused him to smile back.

"How did... the bullies... do that? The scar..." Yamaguchi asked.
