ERIC [ HOST ]: 1.

ERIC [ HOST ]: We will now be revealing the debut team of Produce 42! After the few months spent with the boys, they've all improved and grown, and ultimately, all deserve to be part of the final line up.

ERIC [ HOST ]: But who did you choose tonight to provide with a debut? Before I begin announcing their names, I'd like to state that I'll begin with 8th place. From there, I'll continue until we reach 1st place. Do you know what 1st receives?

AUDIENCE: Centre!

ERIC [ HOST ]: That is correct. After 1st place is announced, we'll go from 18th place down to the final member of the debut group, who is the trainee in 9th place.

ERIC [ HOST ]: I would also like to mention that the votes for the finale is the greatest amount that the trainees had ever received. I'll keep the votes a secret until reaching their placement, but you should definitely expect the unexpected.

ERIC [ HOST ]: I will now announce the trainee in 8th place and the first to be announced as a member part of the debut group...

ERIC [ HOST ]: Despite placing in the lower ranks during his initial audition, Takao's hard work paid off by not only moving up to Class A, but also being chosen to be the official centre of Produce 42's official song, Nayana! He can be considered a great leader as he became one for many of the missions.

UEDA TAKAO [ 8 ]: Thank you to everyone that's helped me to get here! I wouldn't have been able to make it to the top 9 without you. Thank you to the mentors and staff members for all your guidance and support and thank you to all my supporters; family, friends, fans and my dear Starship trainees~ I wouldn't have been able to shine this much if it weren't for all your continuous support! I promise to continue working hard so please look out for me.
