Part 24

Karina's POV

The next morning we were awakened by Jack and Zuri.

"Hey you two, it's time to get going," Zuri said.

"Okay." Coltan and I got to our paws. I looked around. "Where's Rovira?"

"She's waiting for us outside," Jack said.

The four of us excited the cave and we started walking.

"So how long did it take you and Coltan to get to the pride lands?" Rovira asked.

"I honestly can't remember," I said. My stomach started growling.

"Are you hungry?" Coltan asked

"A little," I said in embarrassment.

"I'll go find you something to eat," Coltan said.

I smiled, "thank you." Coltan walked away.

"Are you sure it was a good idea for him to go off on his own?" Rovira asked.

"He'll be fine," I reassured her. A few minutes later Coltan returned with a deer. He set it down. We all started eating. When we finished we started walking again. We had been walking for hours when we noticed it was getting darker. We all agreed to find a cave to spend the night. We found a nice cave to spend the night in. Coltan and I laid together in a corner. "I'm happy that we're going to be living in the pride lands."

Coltan smiled, "me too."

"I can't wait to see the King again, I hope we get to meet the queen when we get there." I noticed that Coltan wasn't paying attention to me. "Coltan, are you okay?"

"Yeah, I'm fine, I was just thinking."

"Okay." I curled up closer to Coltan and fell asleep.
The next morning I woke and saw that Coltan was gone. I scanned the cave but he wasn't here. I got to my paws. I was getting worried. I hope he's okay. As soon as I thought that, Coltan walked in with a deer in his mouth. He set the deer down and walked over to me.

"What's wrong?" Coltan asked. "You look worried."

I hit him with my paw. "I wouldn't look so worried if you had told me you were going hunting instead of just leaving."

"I'm sorry," Coltan apologized. "I just thought everyone would be hungry when they woke up. I didn't mean to worry you."

I was about to respond, but decided not to because everyone started waking up. "Good morning everyone. Did you all sleep well?"

Zuri smiled, "we'd probably still be sleeping if it wasn't for the arguing. So what are you two fighting about anyways?"

"I woke up and he was gone, he didn't tell anyone where he was going, he just left," I said.

"Well at least he caught something," Jack said.

"But what if he hadn't? What if had gotten hurt?"

Jack smiled, "Jamie you can calm down, Coltans Fine."

"I don't blame Jamie for worrying, I would've been worried to if I had awakened," Zuri said.

"Well you girls worry to much," Coltan commented.

I glared at him, "fine get yourself killed."

"We should probably eat so we can get going," Rovira said.

Everyone agreed and started eating, except me, I just watched. Coltan noticed me. Coltan walked over to me with a chunk of meat in his mouth. He put it down in front of me.
