After quietly walking, jogging, and analyzing our surroundings for what seemed like forever, we finally made it to our deer blind. Way up in the trees within the middle of the forest.
"Ame what t-" Agar starts
Cutting him short I respond eagerly, "4:15am"
He raises a brow at me then chuckles, "Alright eager one. Lady's first." He then motions for me to climb up into our blind.
Because their's not a latter it's a bit harder to get up there. The only reason we don't have a latter is because Agar insists it'll keep our blind hidden from the men in black suites.
Agar lifts me up to the nearest tree branch (dang being short) and I, with much difficulty, climb into the blind. "Alright I'm up" I whisper. With that Agar climbs into the blind with no difficulties of course.
Once he's in we exchange look's.
"Lets get to business!" Agar whisper yells. I lightly laugh.
----------------------------
4 hours later, aka 8:30, and we've shot two bucks and a doe. "How long do you think this'll last us?" I question him while grabbing a tarp to take our deer back to the cabin in.
"About 2, 3, maybe 4 months if we space it out well enough." he states flatly, I just nod and help him lift the deer onto the tarp.
"Alright we've gotta hurry, it's light out. They could spot us from any angle." He explains calmly.
"Got it, I'll take the back you take the front?" I ask almost knowingly.
"Yes. Count of three" he starts, "one, two...... three." We then lift and start the long difficult trek home.
-------------------
Finally after the longest and hardest time hulking those deer throughout the forest for 1 1/2 hours. We're finally home. Thank God.
"Alright Ame, go ahead and relax I'll do what I gotta do. When I get inside you're telling me about that dream." Agar says authoritatively.
"Whatever you say, you sure you don't need help over there? You look like you're having a hard time." I reply while walking away. "Nah" he grunts, "I'm good"
I just laugh and shake my head.
Once I'm inside I plop down on the couch and stare out the window and spot an eagle.
I wonder what it would be like to be an animal. To be wild and care free. If I were a bird I could sore above the clouds high in the air, if I were a deer I could prance around as if I had no care in the world, even the squirrels seem to scurry about scavenging for nuts to feed on for winter without a problem. I smile at the thought. If only...
Once I notice what I'm thinking about I shake my head to rid the thoughts. I must stop thinking this way, I was born into the mess I was born in and I have to learn to be content. After all I do have a loving brother... And a nice home... I used to have parents, but only God knows where they are now.
A single tear escapes my eye just at the thought if my parents, I fiercely wipe it away. I wonder if Agar thinks of them. I wonder if he gets emotional at the thought of them. Chuckling I shake my head, their is no way he gets emotional over our parents. not a single tear left his eye when that bullet nicked his ear. He is much stronger then I, he's probably forgotten about the simple idea of our parents.
Involuntarily more tears stream down my face at the same time my brother walks in.
"Amethyst are you okay? What's wrong?"
