Brooke was sitting on the hospital bed staring at the wall. I watched her as she stared into space with no emotion at all. She though I was sleeping but inwas really just examining her. We were here because she was having serious side pain and throwing up. We both knew she was pregnant at this point. But we also know the symptoms of losing a child. I rushed her here without thinking twice about fans or paps. I didn't care. They put us in a very private and low-key room for her safety. Brooke groaned in pain and wiped her tears. She started rubbing her tummy and breathing hard. The doctor walked in with a nurse and a huge ultrasound machine. "okay so what we have here is an ultrasound machine. okay? and what we are gonna do here is check the pregnancy. you are aware of right?" the nurse asked smiling. "yeah, we both are" I said for her. She shook her head as they applied the jelly on her stomach. A few minutes went by and the doctor broke the horrible silence. The baby didn't have a heart beat. Because the baby didn't make it. The doctor looked at Brooke and said "I'm very sorry Miss" and got the machine and gave us space. Brooke still sat there. She began worrying me when she didn't react. She grabbed her shoes and bags and just walked out. "baby..." I called after her leaving. She said nothing. We got in the car. She said nothing. We made it to my home, nothing. A few hours went by and it's going on 3 am and I hear her moving around downstairs. I walked down and stood at rhe bottom of the steps and listened to her. "it's my fault" she said. "I can't carry a baby, it's me" she said crying. I felt my eyes burn from tears. " I'm not good for him. I'm never gonna be good for them" she cried out. I walked towards her and saw here basically sobbing on the floor. I sat beside her and touched her arm. "I'm sorry!" she screamed. "Brooke.." "no no I can't do this anymore I can't keep doing this" she said screaming. "I keep hurting you by losing them" she cried. I felt my chest tighten. "I dont deserve this" she said catching her breathe. "I wanna die" she said crying. "take me away" she said screaming in her hands.
