Tasha P.O.V
How could I have been so stupid. I was so caught up in the photo I found of Sana shirtless that I forgot to change. I ran to my room threw something on and made my hair presentable. The whole time we walked to the cafeteria, Mira was annoying me about my looks. I don't dress up so people will talk to me, hell, I hate it when people talk to me. I'm very shy which is another perk of my anxiety. I like dressing up because then I'll fit in. My dad always wanted that for me. I hated to think about what would happen if-
"Tasha? TASHA!" Mira screamed. "Is your mind present?"
"Yeah. I'm here. Sorry about that."
"Okay, go put our stuff down at our table. I'll get some food."
I took Mira's bag and made my way to our table. Frac. Her bag was so heavy. I didn't understand why she didn't just put it down when she picked me up from the dorms. I got to our claimed land and threw our stuff down. I took in a big breath and turned around. Dang it.
There was a girl at our table. Just staring at me. Since I kinda suck at human interactions, I just stared at her back. We sat there for a good five minutes until Mira came to the rescue.
"Tasha. Who is this?" Mira whispered.
"I. Don't. Know." I whispered back. "But she's scaring the hell out of me."
"I'm gonna try to talk to her." Mira then made her voice audible for the girl at the other side of the table. "Hi. My name is Mira. And this is Tasha. What's your name?"
The girl just went back to her lunch. A very, very pink lunch.
"What do you think she's eating?" I whispered, telling Mira to ask.
"What are you eating? It must be really good if you're eating it that quick."
She didn't answer again, so I raised my head up. Chewing Gum. She was eating chewing gum. Like, she was literally swallowing it and everything.
Apparently Mira saw this too because she whispered to me.
"Maybe she's anorexic?"
"Can we sit somewhere else please?"
"Everywhere else is full. And we've been sitting at this table all year. Just ignore her. She'll be fine with that."
What followed was very awkward small talk and our food just sitting there.
"Hey. Mystery girl. You look hungry. Do you want some of my food?" Mira slid her plate to the girl. She just stared at it. Does this girl not blink?
After another attempt at small talk a voice broke the awkwardness.
"T-Thank you." The girl spoke to us. Then she ate Mira's food. Then she went back to staring at us.
"Are you new?" Mira asked.
"Yea! My name's G-Gwacha! I'm from the SSN p-program and I'm e-eighteen years old!", the strange girl responded slowly, but excitedly.
"What does SSN stand for?" Mira usually did all the talking. Like I said, interacting with other people isn't really my thing.
"Students w-with Special Needs!"
That explained a lot.
We stared at each other for a sec. Our eyes did all the talking.
Who the frickity frack is this?
Why is she at our table?and...
why is she so goddamn cute?
