Mackenzie's POV

"Mackenzie?"

"Mackenzie wake up!"

"Please Kenz you need to get up!"

The individual repeated over and over again. I could hear the voice but I couldn't see them. I forced my eyes open but shut then immediately when the harsh sunlight burned my eyes.

"Mom! She's awake!" I'm imagining Maddie yelled. I reopened my eyes slowly this time. I was in my room, on my bed, wrapped around my comforters? What happened?

"Kenzie? Can you hear me?" Maddie asked grabbing my chin softly to look at her. Instead of speaking I just nodded my head the best I could.

"Mom went to get some medicine from the pharmacy. You must have a headache or a pain of some kind, right?" Maddie asked again. I nodded my head but stopped once I felt a cramp run through the back of my neck and a slight migraine.

"Y-yes, I do. I-I have a cramp in my neck and migraine." I explained barely trusting my voice.

"Do you remember what happened?" She asked

"N-no" I whispered

"Do you want to know?" She asked hesitantly

"No," I said firmly. If whatever happened got me with a migraine, cramp, and some type of amnesia then I don't want to know.

"Once you feel better you'll start to remember." She reassured. I nodded reluctantly wishing there was a way I won't have to remember.

"I don't want to remember," I said like it was the easiest thing in the world.

"You wouldn't want to remember unless there was something you don't want to remember." I wanted to say something after but I decided against it. At the end of the day, I was gonna end with my memory whether I liked it or not.

Door opens

"Mackenzie?" My mom called softly. I looked away from Maddie and saw my mom carrying a Walgreens bag I'm with my medicine

"Here take these. It should help with the pain." She handed me two red pills and a small water bottle that was semi-cold. I set the pills in my mouth gagging at the taste of medicine.

"How do you feel now?" Maddie asked once I finished the water. I shrugged my shoulders passing them the empty water bottle to throw away.

"Why don't you take a nap? You need your energy for later." My mom said pushing me back on the bed and wrapping me with the comforter

"What's happening later?" I asked loosening the cover a little

"Just a friend." She kissed the top of my head before she and Maddie left the room keeping me literally and utterly alone. Alone in my thoughts to think about how the hell I got myself in this situation. I don't remember what happened. I can't even remember what I did after I woke up yesterday morning.

"Just sleep it off," I told myself
