♛ Brady Manning ♛
"Look we can't tell the police, or Brady, what happened. We need to think of something to tell her Jackson. Austin will tell her the truth when the time is right."
I tried to stay quiet a little longer to hear Jackson's reply, but the excruciating pain I was feeling all over my body caused me to wince and cry out, which grabbed the attention of Amelia and Jackson. I had so many questions for them, but Austin was the only person who could answer them, because both Amelia and the attackers tonight, mentioned his name, which got me confused because I didn't understand how Austin was involved with all of this. I looked down to see a blanket on my body, as I was lying on the couch.
"Oh, Brady, you gave me such a fright when Jackson brought you, I thought they'd killed you. Do you need anything?" How had I ended up at Amelia's? And what time was it? Oh god. My mom and dad must be so worried about me. I removed the ice pack from my stomach, and tried to get up, but as soon as I did a wave of pain shot through my stomach and I teared up.
"I gotta get home to my mom and dad, they must be so worried. I said I'd be back for ten." I panicked.
"Don't get up Brades, just rest a little, it's only nine thirty, do you want any Advil?" Jackson enquired.
I laid my head back on the couch pillow and nodded my head. I indeed wanted Advil, my head felt like it had been hit by a semi.
"Yeah I do." I replied.
Once Jackson had given me two Advil tablets to ease the excruciating pain the headache was giving me, Amelia cleaned up my head, eye, and chin wounds. I winced each time she touched my eye, concluding that it was my worst injury. My headache had eased and so had the pain in my ribs and sides.
The time read nine forty five on the clock above the TV. I took my phone out of Amelia's hand as she suggested that I text my dad informing him that I might be slightly late home. I had to make up a reason as to why I look like I had been beaten up, which I really had been, but couldn't worry my parents.
To: Dad
From: BradyMay be a bit late; fell down the steps at the movies, nothing serious. Just got a couple of grazes on my face, nothing to worry about, setting off soon. Xx
"What happened to me? Why did they attack me?" I sniffed, starting to cry.
"Hey hey hey, don't cry Brades, you'll be fine, those men would've attacked anyone that passed, you and Jackson where just unlucky." Amelia replied. I may have been hit in the head, but I heard everything those men said to me, and they weren't just waiting for a random person, or group, to pick a fight with. They were waiting for me.
Why was everyone so secretive around here?
I looked over at Jackson to see the extent of his injuries, because they were attacking him too, but when I looked at his face, there was just a little graze on his cheek. What?
"Jackson, what... But they attacked you... You haven't got marks on your face..." I couldn't fathom it. I saw them hit Jackson at least three times, he should have more damage to his face, and he's just got a measly graze...?
"Guess I just got lucky." He replied. Ha! Lucky my ass.
I went to reply but got cut off by Amelia telling Jackson that I was okay to go home. They were trying to get me to drop the subject. So much weird stuff happened tonight, and ever since I started at La Vernia High, the friends that I've made all act weird too. I thought I'd drop the subject, then when they least expect it; spring it on them tomorrow around the pool, where all our friends will be.
