•••I smirked victoriously as Clint walked out holding his bow and quiver.
He had dropped the kids off to school whilst I fed Nathanael (who was now 1 month and 2 days old) and he had finally given in to my years of begging for lessons. The baby was put to the side, away from any danger but close enough to hear his cries, just in case."Okay, it's really not that hard. You pick up an arrow, slot it onto the drawstring, pull back and release"
"Woah, step by step hun, not everyone has your super-sight bullshit"
Clint just scoffed, kissing my cheek before positioning himself to my side.
"Put the arrow here" he said, guiding my hand to place the arrow properly on the drawstring, "and then pull back so that the string is almost touching your cheek"
"Oomf I already know I'm gonna hurt my cheek today"
"Not if you do it properly - okay and then you aim for the bullseye -"
"How does one aim?"
Clint sighed, shaking his head at me slightly, "you literally look at the black bullseye and line your arm up, and then let go"
"Clint, honey, I don't think you understand me. I don't know how to aim. Sure I can let go but it won't hit anything, how do I make sure I at least hit the target?"
He silently moved behind me, my back crushed against his chest as he positioned himself so he was able to move both my arms.
"This one" he tapped my left arm that was holding the bow frame, "directs the bow. You wanna aim that slightly to the right so you're lining up the arrow"
"Okay"
"Once you have it in the right place," he then moved my arm so it was in the right position, "you let go with your right"
I did so, and the arrow sailed through the air and imbedded itself in the bullseye.I let out a happy squeal, turning around to engulf Clint in a hug, "we did it!"
He laughed and kissed me, his arms slipping down from my arms to my waist.
"See? I'm technically Katniss Everdeen"
"You don't look like her"
"Oh yeah?" I said, raising an eyebrow, "how does this sound"
I took a step back, clearing my throat.
"PEETA! PEEEEETTAAAAAAA!"
Clint sniggered, clapping my impression, "not bad"
"Of course it wasn't bad. I am Katniss. Katniss is me. We are one in the same"•••
After a few hours of Clint desperately trying to teach me (in between baby breaks), I finally managed to hit the bullseye on my own.
"Yes!" I cried out, punching the air in celebration, "I did it without your cheating genes!"
"Hey, what's that supposed to mean"
"Nothing" I winked, blowing him an exaggerated kiss before carrying on with my little celebratory jig.
Clint laughed, wrapping his arms around my middle and lifting me off of the ground, his face buried in my neck. I squealed quietly, the noise quickly turning into laughter.
"How long has it been since I've told you that you're the best thing that's ever happened to me?" He murmured into my neck.
"Must be at least a week" I replied, a small smile on my face.
"I'm losing my touch"
"Nah, I wouldn't say that at all" I retorted in a cheeky tone, my hands moving to squeeze his biceps, "I would prove it but we're in the open and there's a baby right there".
Clint groaned, placing me back onto the grass floor and pressing a kiss to the top of my head.
"We could always make another -"
"Nope. That's it Barton, no sex for you until you get your swimmers sorted out"
Clint pouted, "but Grace"
"We have five kids now. That is enough for me!"
"Graaaaaaace" he moaned, tugging my arm.
"Nope. Nu-uh. My vagina says no"
"Fine" he huffed, walking towards the house.
"Where are you going?"
"To book an appointment!"I held back my laughter, walking over to check on Nathanael.
He was staring up at the tree branches in awe, his little hands reaching up as he tried to grab the leaves as they swayed in the wind. His expression changed as he saw me, a smile forming on his face. I gasped and quickly whipped out my phone to take a photo and send it to the group-chat before picking him up from his crib.
"Did you just smile for the first time? That's amazing!"
He replied by slapping my cheek with his hand, the smile still on his face.
"Are you going to show daddy your smile?" I asked, seeing Clint coming back out of the house. As Clint got closer, the smile disappeared from Nathanael's face and he cocked his head to the side, as if challenging me.
"Cheeky minx"
