"---Connor, wait up!"
He went after him, but was continuously ignored.
He didn't give up that easily.
Connor eventually turned around, and just looked at him. It was a cold, almost emotionless stare.
"What?" He snapped, evidently not in the mood.
He smiled slightly at him, approaching him. "I didn't think I'd ever see you again, Connor." He said, laughing a little. Connor looked at the ground awkwardly, not knowing what to say. He looked back up, catching his eye. "I wouldn't let that happen, Hank." He replied quietly, managing a faint smile himself.
"What happened last night?" Hank asked, another pause occurring. "I guess you could say... Water damage," Connor answered eventually, making him laugh again. "Yeah, something like that. I was expecting you to come back, but---" Hank cut himself off, sighing softly. "Never mind. Let's not do this here. I'm done for the night... Do you wanna come back to my place? We need to talk it out." He said, Connor looking taken aback. "Your... house?" He asked, Hank laughing again. "Yeah. Well, apartment..." He replied, Connor nodding a little. He was a little apprehensive, but he was right.
They needed to talk it out.
Hank's apartment was just out of town. It was rather... sophisticated, which wasn't the impression he got from him. "---Oh, by the way, watch out for the dog." Hank warned him, Connor looking down as something ran past him. He saw a small dog sat looking at him, what seemed like a smile across its little face.
"Is this your dog?" He asked with a little laugh. "Yeah. His name is Sumo, he's just a pup, but... He's a good pup." Hank laughed too, watching him pet him. Connor gently petted his head, now knelt down with him in the lounge. He had a big smile on his face. "He's very sweet." He looked up at the cop, laughing softly. "He is indeed. You want a drink?" He asked, Connor standing up carefully. "Just a water." He smiled, Hank laughing again. "I'll be careful," He teased, Connor rolling his eyes, but laughed too.
He was sat on the couch with him now, but he hadn't been given water, but instead, a red wine. He hadn't ever had wine before, but he was definitely more at ease sitting beside him.
"I hope I didn't freak you out last night..." Hank sipped his wine, looking at him. Connor looked back at him, holding his wine glass but not saying at him. "I say that because of the fact you, uh... Ran out," He added, Connor laughing a little. "You didn't freak me out. I'm sorry I ran out. I just... Didn't wanna have wet clothes." He replied, the cop laughing. "Well, that's justifiable," He smirked, Connor noticing an arm now around him. He wasn't unnerved by it, but it was... different.
"Wet clothes aren't the end of the world, by the way." He added after a brief pause, Connor looking at him again. "I know. It just isn't very pleasant. Especially when you're out for dinner." He replied, taking a sip of his own wine. His face shrivelled up at the sour taste, and it was definitely noticed. "---You don't have to drink that just to be polite, by the way. It's an acquired taste," Hank laughed softly, Connor laughing quietly too, putting the wine glass on the coffee table. "I'm glad you said something because I hated that." He replied, just making him laugh again.
Hank had retrieved him a soda as a "beverage replacement", and they'd spent the whole night talking about their childhoods, Connor being as... subtle, as he could be, and he came to the conclusion that he actually really liked this guy. He didn't ever think he'd warm to a human like this, but it seems he'd managed it. But... He wasn't complaining.
"---Hey, hey," Hank said, cutting off an in-depth conversation. Connor watch him stand up, finishing his wine in the process. "Allons-y." He said as he put the glass down, and Connor titled his head in confusion.
What kinda lingo was this man talking?
"It means "Let's go" in French." Hank noticed his expression, laughing softly. He took his hand and stood him up. "Let's go where?" Connor asked curiously, but wasn't answered as he was pulled out the door. He followed with an intrigued smile, and noticed he was being lead upstairs.
He wasn't entirely sure why, but like before...
He wasn't complaining.
