The other day I froze while looking at her
An unexpected lapse of control
To divert my gaze
And avoid the obvious
But she was so close
I was mesmerized
By every detail of her face
Mentally attempting to discover imperfections
Imperfections?
Perfect imperfections...
Is what my eyes would tell
An eclipse of the Iris
By my pupil's dilations capture
Reflecting an inverted image of herself
But maybe it was that I didn't care
To reveal, hint, and tell
That I want her to show me everything
Her fears, scars, memories from the past
And let me decide
If my heart retreats
Or lasts.
