Without a doubt the question caught me off guard,
And I knew I was going to tell her,
I just needed a moment to control my heart rate
To solve the dilemma
And what it would mean
And push back the strangling knot
So I could speak.
Like a static screen
Words that I wrote faded
Evaporated into black and white dots
And a buzzing sound within my ear drums
Left me back at the original conclusion,
I cannot lie to her,
But could I unbolt the gates?
To let someone see what cannot be unseen
And to be afraid
Not of rejection
But my own humanity,
What quickly became apperant
Was that a heart that had once bled out
Was pumping at full speed
And that sometimes it's okay
To close your eyes
Take a deep breath
And jump into the deep end.
