Kyle's POV
I looked at Jam as he slowly played with his guitar. Should I ask him to watch the game? Nahhh, maybe he'll think I'm too pushy. But I might impress him...
Okay fine.
I took slow steps towards him. I listened to him slowly humming a tune to himself before tapping him lightly and saying "hey"
He turned around and looked at me in surprise. "Oh hey Kyle" he said.
"We have a game this Friday night. I was just wondering if you want to watch? I have spare tickets and since no one else wants to buy them I'm sort of looking for people who wants to watch" I said.
Jam smiled "oh sure, how many spare tickets do you have?" he asked.
"I have two, you can bring a friend." I said, getting the two "spare" tickets from my pocket and handing it to him, "You can bring Mike! Did you two make up already?" I asked.
"Yeah we did, thanks for asking." he said smiling at me as he kept the tickets in his bag.
I scratched the back of my head "Yeah, so see you this Friday night?" I asked. I blushed as I realized it sounded like we were meeting up for a date.
"Yeah. See you." he smiled. I nodded and left him, I gave myself a small celebration. Maybe the next time I'll be inviting him is on a date.
"Great job Kyle" my teammates patted my back one by one. I smiled at all of them and said "thanks."
"You're awesome as usual Kyle." a few girls said to me and I just gave them quick nods while looking for that one boy I need to see badly.
"Cool game Smith" a few guys from the other team congratulated me. I gave them a few nods too and continued my search.
I sighed as I saw no one. "Hey Kyle, everyone kept saying you were cool as usual." Ryan appeared by my side and nudged me gently.
"Yeah. Thanks." I sighed.
"What's wrong with you? We won for fuck's sake!" Ryan exclaimed.
I shook my head "you see, I invited--" but then I saw a familiar flushed face pushing through the crowd. "Kyle!" Jam shouted, trying to squeeze in between two people.
I smiled and walked towards him, pulling him out gently, "Hey Jam. I can't believe you came." I said.
He smiled "why wouldn't I? You were really cool!". I smiled and looked at the floor "thanks" I muttered.
"You came here alone?" I asked, looking around. Jam shook his head "No, I came here with Mike." he said, looking around.
"He was just behind me awhile ago." he said as he finally realized he lost Mike. I chuckled "good luck on finding him, this place is packed."
"Hey Kyle, let's grab a drink." Ryan said, taking my arm.
I looked at him and shrugged "yeah, sure. Hey Jam, since Mike's not here, how about you come with us for a while." I said, looking back at Jam.
Jam looked at Ryan uncomfortably and said "nah it's fine. I'll just try and look for Mike."
"Are you sure?" I asked, my voice full of concern.
"Yeah. You guys go on." Jam said, still looking uncomfortably at Ryan.
I sighed and shrugged "alright, see you at the Celebration party later?"
Jam thought for a while "maybe."
Ryan tugged me "let's get going Kyle." I gave him a glare knowing he's probably the reason why Jam was so uncomfortable.
I waved goodbye to Jam and sighed as he smiled at me for the last time and went searching for Mike.
"what's wrong with you!?" I asked Ryan as we started walking towards the table.
"What do you mean?" he said, trying to look innocent.
"'You know I like Jam, but why are you scaring him away?" I asked.
Ryan shrugged "maybe I want to test him. How willing he is to stay or be with you. So far, he's got an F. He weakened at my simple glare. Do you really want a guy like that Kyle?"
I rolled my eyes "yes, I want a guy like that. Plus he doesn't like me back so why would he stay with me?" I said, sighing in hopelessness.
"He doesn't like you back? I think he does." Ryan said.
I shook my head. I don't my hopes to be raised only to be crush down to the ground "he doesn't."
"If you say so." Ryan said, taking a a bottle of water and handing me another one.
I didn't see Jam at the Celebration party but I did receive a message from him.
Hey Kyle, it's Jam. I found Mike shortly after you and Ryan left. Sorry I couldn't make it to the party. I'll just give you a congratulations gift basket or something like that. Which reminds me, congrats once again. -Jam
I smiled and put my phone back in my pocket. I think I'm falling slowly for him even more.
