Chapter 13

Jam's POV

"Hey you want to eat lunch with us?" Rina asked July who nodded eagerly in return. Although I think all the girls are just gonna pester July about Max the whole lunch time.

As we walked towards the door, Kyle looked at Ryan and asked "Are you gonna come with us?"

Ryan shook his head. "I think I'm going with Ena" he said, smiling at Kyle. "Aww okay. See you!" Kyle said and waved at him.

We started walking towards the Cafeteria with the girls asking July questions like "is he single?" "is he interested in anybody right now?" or "would he date a Sophomore?". I couldn't help but chuckle along the way.

I was suddenly pulled back unexpectedly by Kyle. I looked at him while the others continued walking, iblivious to the fact the we stooped. "What's wrong?" I asked.

"I don't feel too good about July" Kyle said.

"Why not?" I asked.

"I think she likes you" he said.

"Aww Kyle. She's just new here, don't give her a hard time. Plus she doesn't know we're together, and what's wrong if she has a small crush on me?" I said, smiling at Kyle but I did not receive the same expression. Instead, he scowled even more.

"But you're mine! What if she steals you away?" Kyle said.

"She won't. Plus look at you! You're own best friend has a crush on you! but you don't see me complaining or asking you to get away from him"

"My own best friend? Ryan? But he's not gay plus he has Ena" Kyle said. I rolled my eyes at how clueless he was.

"Jam! Kyle! Let's go! They said they're serving something new today!" Hayley shouted from across the hallway.

"We're coming!" I shouted. "Let's just go and drop the subject" I said, looking at my clueless boyfriend who just shrugged with a confused expression on his face.

"THEY'RE SERVING PIZZA? THIS SCHOOL IS ACTUALLY SERVING PIZZA?" Dani screamed at Hayley.

"THEY ARE?" Hayley said and ran towards the Pizza station along with Dani and the rest while Mike, Kyle and I followed them slowly.

"Oh shit. Look at how much it is" Dani said pointing to the price. I took a peek and cringed as I saw the price.

"We can never afford it" Hayley said while sinking towards the floor along with Dani.

"we could just eat something else you know" Eleanor shrugged.

"NO! IT'S PIZZA!" Dani and Hayley screamed simultaneously.

"I'll just treat you guys" July smiled while laughing at the two on thew floor.

"You will? you don't have to" Hayley said.

"It's fine. Do you want pizza too Jam?" July said, looking at me.

"Yeah sure" I said, ignoring Kyle's "coughing"

"Let's go look for a table already" Mike said and we all nodded, leaving only July, Dani and Hayley to buy the pizza.

"Here you go. 8 slices of cheeses and bacon pizza" July said, putting them on the table between two giggling and hungry girls.

"8 pieces? But we're 9" Natasha said, looking around. I looked around and realized it was truth.

"Cunt doesn't know how to count" Kyle muttered under his breath while I stepped on his foot lightly.

"Oh really? I didn't notice." July said.

"It's fine. Whatever. I'll just not eat a pizza since that was what you were planning anyway" Kyle said, glaring at an innocent looking July.

"What? No! I just miscalculated" July said.

"sure you did" Kyle said, rolling his eyes.

"I'll just give my pizza to Kyle" I said to end this pointless argument.

"But what about you?" July asked me. 

I just shrugged. "I can handle a day without pizza, unlike those two" I said, nudging my head towards Dani and Hayley who were munching their pizzas happily.

"Alright" July said, glaring at Kyle who glared back at her.

"July?" an unfamiliar voice said.

That unfamiliar voice was Max McDonough, and immediately, the five girls started choking on their pizza and I tried my best not to laugh out loud.

"Hey brother" July said, smiling at Max while chuckling a bit because of her new friends.

"how is your first day so far?" Max asked.

"It's fine. I met some new people! This is Dani, Hayley, Rina, Eleanor, Natasha..."July said as each girl's face turned red as she mentioned their names.

"Mike....Jam" July finished, not mentioning Kyle at all. Max smiled at each one of us but it quickly disappeared as he realized she forgot to mention Kyle.

"What about him?" Max asked, poitning at Kyle.

"Oh him. Kyle. Yeah" she said, waving him off like some dirt on her shoulders. I couldn't help but frown, she can't just treat my boyfriend that way even though she doesn't know he's my boyfriend.

Max was frowning too and looking at July in a knowing way. "Be good okay?" Max told July and walked off but not without giving the five girls a wink.

And as soon as he turned around, the five girls sighed and stared into space dreamily.

"He winked at us!" Rina squealed.

"I know!!" Eleanor squealed along.

"You're the best July!" Natahsa said, smiling at July.

"Thanks Natasha" July smiled, looking really flattered and smiling at me. i forced myself to smile back as I heard Kyle growl.

He held my hand under the table and muttered "You're mine. Just mine"
