Sakura POV

It has been five months since I have awaken in this new world. I have been steadily building up the muscles in my legs, arms, and neck. I can crawl fairly well now, but I have yet to show this ability to my caretakers nor do I plan on showing it anytime soon. Knowing that I am within the Narutoverse makes me fear the label of prodigy, when I cannot even protect myself against those who would use me for their benefit.

Rolling around the floor of the "playroom" as to not raise suspicion, I look at the shelf sitting in the far corner. Taking a closer look I notice many scrolls and books amongst the fairytales that would come in handy. Since I have decided becoming a ninja is the best route to take, I reach for the scroll on tenketsu points. "I'm pretty sure this is just a fancy name for charka points. Right?" My thought is soon answered as I open it, reading the contents the scroll holds.

What feels to be hours later I finish the scroll, rolling it up and placing back on the shelf as to not raise any unwanted questions. Just as I was putting it back on the shelf Tsubaki, one of the many workers, comes in. "Hey! What do you think you're doing? Don't touch those!" She yells, not taking my age into consideration. I begin to wail trying to catch the attention of another. I don't know what this bitch's problem is, but I am not the one to mess with.

Footsteps can soon be heard coming towards us at alarming speed. Bursting through the door way Ren, the one who usually take care of me now, see Tsubaki hitting my hand and scolding me for touching something. "What the fuck are you doing?" He asks in a calm, stern tone. Tsubaki, not noticing his presence before hand freezes like a deer caught in headlights. "I-I was as punishing her for touching the scrolls. Everyone knows those are for the kids training to become ninjas." She stutters out, gaining back some of her confidence.

Ren gives her a "bitch are you stupid" look. "She is not even half a year old and you are punishing her because she touch something she wasn't supposed to? But it's ok right? Everyone knows those are for the kids who aspire to be ninjas, right?" He says picking me up. Not giving her a chance to answer, he takes me out of the room and away from Tsubaki.
"Ha. Jokes on you bitch. Should have known not to fuck with me." Was the only thought the crossed my mind as a sly smirk creeps upon my face.

No One POV

As Ren takes Sakura out of the room, Tsubaki stand in place gritting her teeth cursing the both of them. Turning to storm out of the room she trips and falls flat onto her face, breaking her nose and knocking out her two front teeth before promptly slipping into a dead faint.

Meanwhile Ren is taking Sakura with him on his errands, as he has done many times before. Noticing Sakura is no longer whimpering, he smiles brightly at her as she too smiles just as bright towards him. Humming a soft tune, Ren makes his way through the market with a basket hanging from one arm as Sakura rest in the other. Grabbing what he needs, he spots Sakura staring intently at a stone. It's black and white with an iridescent shine, the colors shifting as he looks closer.

Seeing the price he walks away only to stop when he hears whimpering. Looking down he is met with teary eyed, pouting Sakura. With a sigh he begrudgingly grabs the stone, placing it in her hold. Sulking, he finishes up his shopping and pays before heading back to the orphanage all while Sakura smiles brightly in awe and wonder, never taking her eyes off the stone. However, before they enter the place they call "home" Sakura quickly hides it as best as she can with her semi functional body.

Ren looks at her from the corner of his eye, amused by her actions. Walking through the door they are greeted by a familiar whining and an unknown voice.

Ren POV

Hearing Tsubaki's whining about something, I quickly walk towards the kitchen. Putting away the groceries and storing the hygiene products, I walk in the direction of the noise hearing another besides herself. Readjusting Sakura within my arms I enter the head matron's office.

"So you're telling me that Ren, who was no where near you, pushed you and that's how you ended up like this." The head matron, Nana-san, questions with a tired sigh. Before Tsubaki has a chance to answer I intervene, fed up with her bull shit. "She did that to herself. I haven't seen her since Sakura and I left for the market." I look at Tsubaka annoyed.

"And if anyone should be complaining it should be Sakura, but since she clearly can't for obvious reasons I'll do it for her. Tsubaka here decided that smacking Sakura was a rightful punishment since everyone knows not to touch the books and scrolls without permission. Apparently even infants know this as well, makes sense right?" I say in an irritated voice, never once taking my eyes off Tsubaki's

Both Nana-san and Tsubaki's eyes widen. An enraged Nana-san looks towards Tsubaki's rapidly paling face. "I don't tolerate abuse of any kind. You are lucky that you are already injured. Due to recent events, I believe that it would be best to let you go." Nana-san states in an eerily calm tone. Before Tsubaki can even protest Nana-san pushes her out of the office, shutting the door on her already broken nose.

Turning back to us she walks to her desk before sitting down. "Now that everything is taken care of I think it would be best to permanently move you onto nursery duty, as you have clearly shown that you are great babies." She says looking at me with a sly smile. Before I can say no, she dismissed me.

I sulkily walk out of the door, looking back with a pitiful look on my face as a last attempt. Her smile remains as she waves me out, grumbling about having to find new staff. I sigh walking towards Sakura's room and place her into the crib before I head down to the kitchen to start tonight's dinner.

Sakura POV

"You reap what you sow, bitch." I silently crackle as that thought runs through my head. I am brought out of my thoughts as Ren takes me back to "my" room. Upon enter the nursery he places me into my crib before leaving to do whatever it is.

Making sure he's gone I pull out the stone that he had bought earlier. I don't know what it is about it, but I feel connected to it. It's round and smooth, as if covered in a layer of silk. The feeling of it is cool to the touch, but also so warm it burns. I can't think of any other way to explain it. If I had to guess it's about two times the size of my hand, which isn't really saying much.

Carefully laying it beside me I curl around it, as if to protect it from prying eye. Falling into a deep sleep, I barely notice the dark and light entities hover above my bed. A content smile slips onto my face as I realize that no matter what, I will always have both Life and Death on my side.
