AS CARSON PROMISED, room 112 was crazy. Almost the entire grade was scattered around the large space, drinking, smoking, and kissing. Johnny pushed his way past the couples shoving their tongues down each other's throats. While usually he would have loved to get in on the action, now he had no appeal for meaningless sex or kissing. He actually found it quite gross and cringed as he imagined how many people had witnessed him doing shit like this before.
"Johnny!" Nadia screamed over the music, running over to him in her tight crop top and short shorts. Never had she worn something this revealing, and Johnny was as shocked and she was for even going out in it.
"Who are you trying to impress Nads?" Johnny said laughing, then pointing at her bare thighs.
"Not sure yet," She smiled back. "Want to dance?" She asked him offering her hand.
"As long as you keep me away from them," Johnny said, pointing to Carson and the crowd of girls practically begging to have him.
As Nadia and Johnny danced, Johnny realized he parties could actually be fun without any sexual action. It also gave him more time to talk to his friends which he realized he had been missing out on a lot. Slowly, Johnny lost focus of the night, drinking and dancing with Nadia, with uncontrollable laughter. However, two pairs of sunglasses and scarves were watching him very carefully, every action he took, every word he said, everything he did. Mackenzie wanted to go and dance with him more than anything, kiss his cheek and tell him she surprised him, but she noticed how happy he looked and didn't want to change anything. So she sat and watched.
"GO TALK TO HIM!" Mandla yelled over the blasting rap music. He pointed to Johnny who was now in the middle of making Nadia a hairdo and laughing at his lack of expertise in the matter. And clearly, he was drunk.
"It's fine Mandla. This is all super weird of me to come here and do. I trust him completely and I don't even know why we're here. We should go," Mackenzie said, turning away from Johnny and Nadia on the dance floor. She walked away with a fast pace as Mandla trailed slowly behind her. Seeing a drunk Johnny laughing with a whole different girl made Mandla mad. His best friend was hurting because Johnny was being an ass. And Nadia being a fake ass friend? He knew she was all over him... Mackenzie was too naive.
Just as Mandla was about to approach them, Nadia leaned in for the kiss, their lips locking for a few seconds before Mandla stormed out of the room, leaving no trail behind.
