MACKENZIE ROLLED HER SUITCASE out of the airport terminal. She was finally back in Los Angeles from what felt like forever, and she was so excited to be home. Although she missed Mandla like crazy, she knew she had to go back. There was nothing left for her in Seattle.
"Kenzie!" Mackenzie turned around to see her best friend Maisy Stella running up to her. Immediately cameras were flashing, following the teenagers moves, but Mackenzie was too happy to even care. She was back with her best friend- who she needed to tell so much to.
As soon as they entered Maisy's car, Kenzie was bombarded with all sorts of questions about her trip.
"So what happened with you and John?" Maisy asked, acting casual.
"W-What? I never told you about him..." Mackenzie asked with disbelief. She thought coming back to LA that she wouldn't have to think about him. Clearly, she was wrong.
"Oh come on Kenzie. You guys were in like every magazine for the past week... kind of mad you didn't tell your fucking best friend about your boy drama, but I guess I forgive you..." Maisy said smiling.
"Mais, I'm sorry!" Mackenzie shook her head. "And either way, there's not much to tell anymore." Mackenzie said softly.
"You guys broke up?" Maisy asked, looking at the sadness in her friend's face.
"No... I'm not sure we were ever officially dating... I mean we both said 'I love you', but it wasn't formal. So I guess I'm not sure what I lost then..." Mackenzie's voice drifted as she looked outside her window.
"So what happened?" Maisy asked her.
"I was fucking with immature high schoolers Maisy. He was a normal kid, and I'm well, I'm me. I guess I just require more than your average relationship..." Mackenzie said.
"That's bullshit Kenzie. Just because your relationship didn't work out does not mean you can blame it on the fact that you're a celebrity and he isn't. I don't think it would've made a difference." Maisy said.
"You know what, you're right. What happened was that he constantly doubted me, and always trusted one of his friends who turned out to be lying to him, as I told him." Mackenzie pulled her hair back into a ponytail.
"But can we not talk about Johnny?" Mackenzie asked. "I already told him we're done, I don't need to waste my energy on him."
