~ back to GEH ~
It is raining outside, typical Seattle weather which casts shadows into Christian’s modern appartment, Escala. Ana walks into the living room wearing skinny black jeans, a camel colored knitted sweater, and leopard patterned high heels. Her hair is loose draping over her shoulders in messy curls, but Christian is nowhere to be found. “Good Morning Mrs. Jones.” Ana greets with a smile and walks around to give the woman a small hug.
“Good morning, Ms. Steele” the older woman smiles back, chocking at the familiarity. Mrs. Jones is wearing her typical white blouse and pencil black skirt. “It is very good to see you here again.”
“Ana, please, just Ana” – it is obvious she is genuinely happy to see me.
“Then please call me Gail, what would you like for breakfast, Ms. Ana?” she follows with a smile – Finally, hopefully the boss won’t mess this up; and stops being with all those bimbos! Ana is beautiful and sweet inside and out. He is the happiest I have ever seen him.
“Just some fruit, yogurt and granola, if you have it.”
“Absolutely, coming right up.”
Ana is at the breakfast nook eating granola and fruit when Christian’s office opens and a beautiful woman steps out. The woman looks to be in her thirties, impeccably dressed with a dark business suit and Louisvuitton shoes. She is a brunette, with her hair flowing to her shoulders and has an easy demeanor. She is a beautiful, a well put together professional, with an aura that exudes confidence. Ana feels intimidated but does not move; she tries to remember the women in the pictures in the closet but her mind goes blank – was this woman one of them? One of the fifteen?
“Ma’m” the woman says as way of greeting while she walks to the elevators. Christian is not too far behind; his hair is sticking in odd angles. Christian notices Ana’s body language – what is eating at her? Is she still upset with me? Is she remembering the photos?
Taylor appears from nowhere and silently walks the woman out.
Christian sits next to Ana and picks on her fruit and takes an inventory of her. Fast breathing, fidgety feet, and narrowed eyes. ‘Maybe she is angry,’ then he realizes what is going on: Ana is jealous! She is cute when the green eye monster takes hold of her, my baby cares for me!
“Did you sleep well?” Christian asks Ana; he now has a cocky panty melting smile. He is wearing a dark blue suit, grey pressed dress-shirt. His light blue tie with silver designs is draped over a chair and he reaches for it putting it on effortlessly.
Ana recognizes that he is in full CEO mode, powerful. He looks good enough to eat – sometimes I forget how powerful a man he truly is! “Who is that?” She asks; her voice has an accusatory tone that she did not intend.
“That is Ms. Callaghan. She is a lawyer at the firm that always handles my legal needs.”
“… and what legal needs do you have now?”
“Always so inquisitive,” he smirks and she raises her eyebrow so he continues, “she was explaining what I can expect, contingency plans, exploring all my options one will say.” – If I even mention Elena she’ll see red.
“Are you being sued?”
He shakes his head “No” with finality and she knows he won’t say any more. She finishes her breakfast in silence while Christian fidgets with his cellphone.
“I should be back by 5 this afternoon.” Ana declares breaking the silence.
He nods in response. “I like that you are eating, Ana. It is good to see. Give Ray my greetings.”
