Ch13: Discovery

Acnologia's pov

I was sitting outside, watching the clouds move while keeping an eye out for danger in the sky. Miyako was sleeping which was good.

She had been having serious back pains and cramps as well as a lot of vomiting. The fact that she was hungry a lot probably didn't help the nuasea. All of this was keeping her up at night and during the day so whenever she could, she would nap.

I was getting worried. It had been at least 3 weeks since she first vomited and I don't know any sickness that lasts that long. At the beginning, I suggested that it was her time of the month but she snapped at me and started yelling about how there was no blood.

After a while, I got up and walked in. Miyako had woken up annd was back to chewing on a bone in her animal form. "Are you alright?" I asked.

"I'm dying" she mumbled. "Are you sure?" I asked. "Yes. I've not bled in 2 months, I'm having constant nuasea, I can't sleep, I'm uncomfortable, I have god forsaken cramps that are killing me and I'm nearly always hungry" she responded.

"I'm sure there's another reason other than your dying" I explained. "Well then I implore you to find one" she responded. "I'll be at the library if you need me" I explained.

"Like I'd make it to the library without either throwing up or collapsing in pain" she stated. I just sighed and walked over to the library.

I looked through all the books until I found one on ailments and medical conditions. I brought the book back to the shrine.

When I got back, Miyako was lying on her side, her face half burried into a pillow. "What aree you doing?" I asked. "Trying to get comfortable" she replied.

"Alright" I sighed and say down, flicking through the pages of the book. So far I didn't find anything that matched all of Miyako's symptoms. I kept flicking through the book till I got to one page. I read the symptoms over and froze.

"Shit" I mumbled aloud. "Why'd you swear?" Miyako asked. "I might have found what's wrong but I'm not sure" I responded. "Then check" she told me.

"I don't have anyway of checking. We just have to wait and see" I responded. "Wait and see what?" she asked. "Could you sit up?" I asked. She mumbled something under her breath but sat up anyway.

I looked her over. She looked the same as normal. Nothing different. I checked for a fever to be sure. No fever. "Wait to see what?" she asked again.

"To see if your belly grows" I responded. 'Are you saying I'm going to get fat!" she snapped, hitting my head." No. I didn't say that. I think you might be pregnant" I explained.

She froze and seemed to be in thought. "So your saying that there might be a tiny human growing inside me?" she asked. "Well, it's not necessarily a human but yes" I replied.

"How did that happen?" she asked. "Your joking right? Your nearly 400 years old ajdd you don't know how babies are made?" I asked flatly. "First off. I'm a god. I don't think the other gods expected me to be having babies. Secondly, I never had a mother or father. I didn't gett raised by anyone. I was created from fox fur, human hair and shadows" she countered.

I deadpanned. "So how does it work. Did I swallow some of your hair?" she asked. "I mated with you" I stated. "I'm aware...... Wait..... Is that how it happened?" she asked. "Yes" I replied.

"Oh. So that's why I'd never mated with my first boyfriend" she mumbled to herself. "So how do you feel about a baby?" I asked.

She thought about that. "It means I have something else to love. I like that idea" she purred. "Children are a lot of work. Trust me. I had a son" I pointed out.

"I've helped expectant mothers in the past. I was this island's guardian. It was my job to help people. I would also take care of kids if it was ever necessary" she responded.

"Yeah but this time you'll be taking care of it 24/7" I pointed out. "I have you. You know how to deal with children" she pointed out. I sighed.

"We'll just have to see if it's a pregnancy or not" I sighed. She pulled me into a hug as I pet her ears which resulted in her tails wagging.
