Chapter 19: The vicious circle of time loops

I was now in the outside, the snow made it kind of difficult to walk but I kept my pace up to a normal one. The snow was making crunched sounds under my shoes and except that, it was a soundless place.
The trees were high and I was still walking forward.
I had a weird feeling again, I turned around and saw a skeleton.

Y/n: Erm....Hello?

He just looked at me, with a silly smile that never seemed to fade.

???: Heyya....

He looks familiar...

Y/n: Do I know you?

???: Hehehe.....I guess you can't remember properly....

He approached me.

???: I'm Sans....

Y/n:Sans....

I was starting to get images, it all already happened in the past....how is that even possible....
My eyes widened.

Y/n: I...I remember now.....

Sans: Nice, I'm not gonna tell you what happened then, it'll save us some time.

I remember everything....they died....I died.......

Sans: Hey kiddo, you alright?

I looked back at him.

Y/n: Y-Yeah....

Sans: I died... papyrus died and...you died... That's why we have to act as if nothing happened, got it?

Y/n: ....yeah....What do we do about that other human?

Sans: Sadly...I don't know...

I looked down...

Y/n: I'll just meet with the others, I hope they didn't change...

Sans: Nothing changes when a loop is activated...

Y/n: I see.....Then I should hide for now.

Sans: Yeah, Paps is almost here .....

I was hidden at the same spot as last time as I saw papyrus goofily walking toward Sans...

Once Papyrus started to talk, I zoned out. He is alive....
I looked at him, he was so goofy and...alive...

I was brought back to reality when I felt a light tap on my head, I stepped back, it was Sans...

Sans: You're sure that you are alright kid?

I just slowly nodded, trying to focuse on something else than the fact that everything had restarted...

Sans: Alright, let's go as last time then, see ya later!

He walked away, using his shortcut again as I stayed here, looking ate the snowy ground for a few seconds... I shook my head and headed toward the incoming puzzles.

After some walk, I arrived again near the two of them....they were talking... I greeted them, Papyrus introduced his electric maze, it went the exact same way as the first time, he forgets to give me the electricity selecting ball and he gets zapped instead of me... He makes a path in the snow to give it to me through the maze and I follow the path...
Once again, papyrus left excited so I looked toward sans.

Y/n: It's so weird.....I've already done all of that and yet...

Sans: I know how it feels, trust me...

I chuckled.

Y/n: I guess, I should probably continue...

Sans: Yup...

Y/n: See ya there.

Sans: Yup.

Again, I continued through the snow, quickly seeing the two skeletons.
I just acted like I did the first time, solving the dispute and moving on...

I walked once again... I skipped the spaguetties, lied to paps about me eating them, passed the tile maze that wasn't really a maze and finally passed his 'gauntlet of terror'...

After that, I had to look out for him but...I already knew where he was so I just walk in the right direction and... I had to see him struggle between his moral and his ideals of being a royal guard....I had to 'fight' him again... I hate that... And then, came the 'date'...

During the 'date', I acted as acted before, befriending him once again.
After some talk, he gave me his number and it was time for me to resume my 'adventure'.

I knew I would have to face undyne once again but...what if I acted differently? What if I manage to not fall of the bridge....
Right now, I was walking in the cave, I've found the cool bracelet and said hello to monsterkid.
Then I hid in the tall grass, waiting for undyne to go away....

Doing like before, papyrus told undyne about my outfit and I was trying to figure out a plan...
I was now stepping foot on the bridge as the blue circles appeared.
I ran as fast as I could, to try and go faster than undyne in her heavy armour.

The circles were not following me anymore, I looked behind me while still running...It was a mistake, I felt like something was wrong and it was... Undyne was already at the end of the bridge.
I stopped running, not knowing what would happen this time around.

Y/n: Undyne....I don't want to fight you...

She stayed silent and slowly made her way toward me, spear in hand.

Y/n: Please...

I had an idea.

Y/n: Papyrus told me that you were the one teaching him how to cook, I can't hurt you!

She stopped in her track, I wasn't expecting it to actually work...

Undyne: So you really befriended him huh?

I stayed silent and nodded.
She stayed there for a second, not moving, before jumping down, saying something about how she'll kill me next time....Maybe I should have did it  like the first time....

Y/n: I have to jump down anyway....

I carefully made my way to garbage land, skipping the mad dummy and befriending napstablook again...

I made my way toward were my second encounter with undyne occured...
She was still here, she made the same speech, in the same way....how can Sans endure that....
Just like the first time, the silly monsterkid interupted her dash as he understood that I was the one undyne tried to attack.
She walked away, dragging the kid....I just walked again, knowing that I'll have to defend myself this time around...

I was now on the thin bridge, monsterkid is here and...I'll have to be ready to catch him before he falls...
We had a little talk and I told him that he should probably go home...he walked away and....that's when he slipped off the bridge. I catched him and got him back on the bridge.
As before, undyne arrived but monsterkid defended me and undyne walked away.

I was now walking to the third encounter, she was on the tip of the cave's entrance....This time, I'll try to give her a proper fight before running away!

A/n: It's been too long, sorry, I was dealing with exams, bipolar shit, anxiety, maybe depression but idc, it's sleeping problems, mostly huge ass insomnia that were the problems...anyway, chapters should come out more now, I still have exams but it's alright, see you soon!
