Chapter 3

 

I woke up getting changed and it was my turn to get breakfast so I went to a restaurant close to the hotel and ordered the breakfast meal then waited.

"Hello pretty lady," a guy said "what are you doing here?"

"Getting breakfast for me and my friends," I said with a small smile.

"Nice, are any of them your boyfriend?" He asked and I giggled.

Was this guy hitting on me or something?

"No," I said and he smirked.

"I'm Leon," he said.

"I'm Eve," I said and we talked until my food came and we gave our numbers to each other so we could chat, he seemed like a nice guy and put a smile on my face.

I took the food to the hotel and we all ate in silence.

Xavier and I need to talk.

"Xavier, can we talk?" I asked and he nodded

"What's up Eve?" He asked scratching the back off his head.

"About the kiss, I knew the siren wouldn't get to you if you had feelings towards someone else so kissed you and I just feel kind off a bit weird. I didn't plan it but I'm sorry, I caught you of guard but also the siren then I killed her without blinking, this is my life now," I said sadly with tears in my eyes.

"thank you for saving my life," he said quietly "I just got shocked because no one kisses me but my first love, the mother to my children, I haven't loved since her death."

"Xavier, I care for all my friends and will save who I can until I fall but it's so hard, I try and do what's right but what if I tumble and fall?" I asked sadly.

"We're hunters Eve and we'll protect you to," he said hugging me and I kissed his cheek and then walked to the others, I think I could be falling deep for this guy but I can't, all isn't real unless you meet the perfect guy and I don't know if he is yet.

 When I got back to the others the news was up.

"A guy got burnt and people say a guy touched him and he just got burnt, that's impossible and they were sent to the hospital for Checkups since what they are saying made no sense, the news lady said and Carl turned the TV off.

"What is it?" Zero asked.

"I don't know," Annabeth cried.

"We'll find out soon," I said and grabbed a book "I'm going to read a few things."

There were a lot that could burn things like a dragon but they aren't men, they are beasts that turn into beautiful women that burn with a kiss but then there was the Phoenix and it fit perfectly, ok, they burn people with a touch, silver slows them down, they only burn when they want and they are good at tricking people, they'll show you a fake form and hide their real one.

"Found it, I think we're hunting a Phoenix," I said explaining what I just read.

"How do we find it?" Jansen asked.

"Doesn't say," I said.

"We'll find a way," Kyle said "I know that there's a professor here who maybe can help, Jansen and I will talk to him," he said and they left.

"It'll be hard to find them if they look like men because it could be anyone," I said sitting on a chair.

"Yeah but we'll still kill it," Xavier said.
