Chapter 5

we are driving just to keep going somewhere, hunters always travel, it gets annoying at times but we learn about other places so it is also good.

My baby bump is showing, Rose is in Xavier's car.

"Eve?" Kyle asked.

"Yes," I said.

"Do you like Xavier as more than a friend?" He asked.

"Um, what? Why are you asking?" I said blushing.

"Come on, tell us," Jansen said.

"I'm not sure," I said and we dropped the subject.

We drove for four hours then stopped at a place called spring hill hotel and bought a big room since there is a lot of us.

"Why did we stop here?" Rose asked.

"I got a call from a friend saying something is attacking," Xavier said "she didn't say what is but something with claws and wings."

"We'll check it tomorrow, we need rest," Zero said as we all went to bed; I couldn't believe I am going to have a child, it's so unreal but Kai doesn't know.

I can't tell him because he's a monster.

I fell asleep ten minutes later thinking about my future.

We all woke up and I went to check the bodies with Carl.

We got there and gave fake FBI ID's to the doctor.

"The bodies were wrecked and their insides were mashes up like goo the doctor said and I felt sick.

Carl and me walked away.

"An animal ate his insides I think," Carl said.

"Gross," I said as we drove back "what could do that?"

"Any animal or beast but what has wings?" Carl said.

"I have no idea," I said groaning.

"We need to find out," Carl said, he never has emotion when he speaks, he's the guy that lost everything but will protect what he has, I don't know his past but I know he's a good guy.

We got to the hotel and went to the room.

"I just got a call from my dear cousin and he knew what we were hunting, read it in the news paper and he said a winged lion," Xavier said.

"That makes sense, they have wild ones, they eat insides and kill to survive," Carl said.

"Do you know how to kill to?" I asked.

"Just shot it three times should do," Xavier said and we loaded the guns each taking one.

"Eve, your quiet," Annabeth said.

"Life is charging for me, I'm a hunter," I said walking away.

I pet Violets head and hug her and Adam.

Zero was babysitting them today.

While we try and find it.

"They are usually in woods," Xavier said "Carl, Eve, Rose and I will check it out."

We went to the woods in the town and we split up looking for it.

The woods looked all the same so I didn't where I was going.

I am scared deep down but I'll deal with that.

I'll teach the child in me when it's older to be good.

Life will always end good.

I saw something ahead so I looked in the gap to see a lion with wings.

I walked up behind it with my gun up and I shot it and then it looked back and growled at me, I was frozen in my spot as it ran at me but a wolf came out of nowhere knocking it down and then ran behind me as Xavier shot the lion a few more times.

"Thank you," I said as he hugged me.

"Don’t freeze in battle, we can't lose you," he said leaning down and kissing me.

"What was that for?" I asked.

"I love you," he said as I ran, crying with the wolf behind.

I couldn't deal with it, I ran until I couldn't any longer and I just paid for a hotel room where they aloud pets of course, my wolf will stay with me forever.
