"Baby!" Jonah called and watched as Corbyn slowly limped into his room.

"Hey, baby." The dog perked at the sound of his voice, but still moved slowly. Jonah stood up and picked up the Pit Bull. He sat on the bed and laid down. The dog curled up in front of him and soon fell asleep.

Jonah watched the dog sleep for a minute.

"Poor baby." He saw the gray hairs around his muzzle and beneath his eyes. He looked at how his breathin was getting shallower and shallower. "I think its time, baby." Jonah picked up the old dog and carried him to his car. He grabbed his keys, wallet, and phone before leaving.

He arrived at the vet and he talked to a nurse. She took them back and he laid Corbyn on the table. The old dog looked up at Jonah and reached up slowly. He licked the salty tears from his cheeks and Jonah chuckled lightly.

He ran his hand down Corbyn's side.

"How long have you had Corbyn?" The vet asked.

"14 years." Jonah replied and she smiled. Corbyn looked up and saw Jonah crying again.

Why are you crying, dad?

"I'm so sorry that you have to go through this." She sympathized and Jonah shook his head.

"He was getting old anyway. I knew it was coming." She nodded and grabbed a needle. "I love you, baby. I'll see you in another life." Corbyn licked his face and hands. Jonah cried harder as she instered the needle into his leg.

Dad. . .?

"Bye, baby. Rest In Peace." Jonah kissed his muzzle and petted his head and sides. "I love you."

I love you too, dad.

Jonah watched his eyes close and his chest stop moving. He laid his head on his neck and cried into his fur. The nurse rubbed his back and he soon got up. He grabbed the dogs collar.

"Please do a private cremation." Jonah said quietly and wiped his eyes.

"Okay. I'm sorry, sir." She said and he shook his head.

"He's not sufferejng anymore and that's all that matters."
