Mumbo POV
We exited the portal and landed in a street. It was night, and nobody was out. Grain followed me, then Taurtis, then Wither.
The Halfhel stumbled as he came through. I grabbed his arm to keep him from falling.
"You alright there?" I asked.
"I'm fine. Just tired." Wither changed into his Halfhel form, which he did when he was out of energy.
He staggered a bit. "With great power... Comes great need to take a nap. Wake me up later." He collapsed.
Taurtis and I caught him before he hit the ground. We gently set him on the road. Taurtis walked up to the door of one of the houses.
Personally, I wouldn't have gone to that one. The smell of smoke and chemicals came from inside. On the roof, was a spaceship. It looked as though it had crashed into the house, but as to why that would happen, I have no idea.
He knocked and said. "Toritos." The door opened to reveal a young man inside. Brown haired, with dark glasses perched crookedly on his face.
"There you are Taurtis." He said. "Ellen came here yesterday. What hapened to you?"
Taurtis glanced back at us. "Long story. Can we come in?"
J looked over his shoulder quickly, then turned back to us. "Yeah, but be careful. Dom's kind of pissed about the whole Invader thing." Taurtis stepped inside.
Grain helped me prop Wither between the two of us. I looked at him. "Weird to be back?" I asked.
He nodded. "Definitely. I didn't expect to be back here so soon, if at all."
We walked inside.
"Put your friend down here." J pointed to a couch. I set Wither down on it, making sure he was okay.
A few more people were inside, who Grian introduced to me as Silly, Okami, Pepe (yes, like the meme) Chan, and Dom. They all seemed pretty tired.
"Well." Dom fixed Grian with mean eyes. "You're back."
"Yes. He is." Taurtis walked up to Dom.
"And you brought a friend too." Dom looked at me. "Who is this Grian? Your boyfriend?" I could tell he didn't actually think so, and just wanted to make him feel bad.
So I stepped up beside Grian, wrapped my hand around his waist, and pulled him closer to me. Dom stared in disbelief.
"As a matter of fact, yes." Grian said smugly.
Taurtis laughed. "Well, I will congratulate you on managing to shut Dom up." Dom tried protesting, but Taurtis ignored him. I liked him a lot more for that.
Silly stepped up. "So. Who's this?" She asked, pointing to Wither.
"His name is Wither." I answered.
"Why is he so..." Okami's voice trailed off. The unfinished question hung in the air. Why is half of him dead looking?
"He's a death god from the underworld." I said simply.
They all looked at me weirdly.
"Don't mind me, just a depressed frog back here." Pepe muttered from the corner where he sat. "He isn't that weird compared to me."
"Anyways." Grian broke the silence. "What is going on?"
"I'll answer that." A voice came from outside the door. The group stiffened.
"Is that?.." I didn't finish the question.
"Yes." Grian spoke in a small voice.
"Open the door." Sam said from outside.
-----
Dom grabbed Grian by the shoulders. "Did you lead him here?" He hissed.
"No!" Grian shook Dom's grip off of him. "Why would we?"
"I just want Taurtis. Give him to me, and I'll go." Sam spoke coldly.
Dom walked over to the door and opened it.
"YOU GET OUT OF HERE YOU SON OF A B-" Dom flew at Sam, fists flying. The hybrid ducked, and punched Dom in the gut. As Dom stumbled, Sam struck Dom with his blade, jabbing right through Dom's side.
"Dom!" J grabbed Dom's wrist and pulled him in quickly, slamming the door behind him.
We brought him into the living room. His shirt was soaked in blood. Okami rolled up his shirt to bandage up the cut. It went deep into his side.
"You shouldn't have done that." Okami scolded as she patched up the wound. "Sam knows what he's doing."
"Lucky shot." Dom grumbled through clenched teeth,
Grian stepped up. I grabbed his wrist. "Don't." I said. He shook me off.
"I'll be fine." He promised. What happened next I will never truly understand.
Grian swung the door open. And Sam was waiting, bloody knife in hand. Grian faced his old friend unflinching. Sam had just enough time to realize who it was before Grian punched him in the face. The hybrid crumpled to the ground. Grian slammed the door shut.
I stared at Grian.
"What?" He asked.
"Nothing."
Grian POV
Taurtis had wandered upstairs. I followed him, worried about how he was doing.
I found him sitting on the balcony staring at the city, a a half eaten Torito bag beside him.
"Hey." I sat down beside him. "You okay?"
Taurtis looked up at me. "I'm okay." He lied.
"No, you aren't." I snapped.
My friend sighed. "I'm scared." He admitted. "My best friend wants to kill me. He wants me dead.
He's killed all our friends. Invader, Soul, Pete, Carl and Freddy. He attacked Dom. He doesn't even care. He's note the same anymore.
I just want my friend back."
I pulled him into a hug. He accepted, as tears started falling.
"We'll get through this." I whispered. "We're going to get Sam, back, and get rid of Yuki."
Taurtis nodded, still in my embrace.
We stayed like that for a minute. I heard somebody come upstairs.
"Hey Grian, are you here..." The newcomer's voice trailed off. Taurtis and I looked up.
I was staring into the betrayed face of Mumbo.
