Author Note: AAAAUUUUGGGGHHHHH!!!!!! It's been so long since I've updated this book! Tea, you were right. I am overworking myself to much.

Anyways, here it is, another chapter! Yay.

Mumbo POV

Betrayal. That was the first thing I felt when I walked out on to the balcony and saw them. Grian and Taurtis, hugging.

I thought I might actually be able to have a relationship with Grian.

But clearly I was wrong.

Grian looked up and his eyes filled with guilt. "Mumbo, it's not what it looks like."

I ignored Grian and ran.

I didn't know where I was going until I stopped on the roof. I sat there, staring at the sunset.

Grian came out. "Mumbo, there you are." He sighed with releif.

I ignored him. "What does he have that I don't?" I asked. "I can do redstone. I can build. What's so special about Taurtis?"

Grian sat beside me. "It isn't what you thought was going on. I wouldn't cheat on you. Plus, Taurtis already has a girlfriend."

He shuffled closer to me, and I wrapped my arm around him. We sat in silence for a while.

"What are we going to do about Sam and Yuki?" I asked.

Grian thought for a minute. "We don't want to hurt Sam-"

"Dom begs to differ." I remarked.

"But the real problem is Yuki. She's the one who makes Sam go mad."

"We deal with her." I realized. "We deal with Sam."

Grian nodded. "Hopefully we can snap him out of it."

"You don't seem very optimistic." I noticed.

Grian laughed quietly. "The last time... It didn't go well."

"So what happened?" I asked. "You guys haven't told me anything really."

Grian took a deep breath. "Sam... Has two different sides to him. The nice one, who we all like. And the insane one, who we've only seen twice.

Last time, he got mad at Taurtis and stabbed him while he was trying to get me home. He passed out and crashed the bus. I wasn't hurt, but Taurtis went to the hospital. While he was gone, Sam slowly started going mad.

He forced me to dress up as Taurtis and pretend to be him. If I didn't, he would kill me."

"Why are we helping this guy?" I asked.

Grian glared at me. "Because it's Yuki who's pushing him farther into insanity. We barely got him back last time, who knows about now."

I realized he was crying a bit. I hugged Grian and pulled him closer.

"We're going to help him." I promised Grian. "We'll get him back-"

I stopped, seeing two figures in the street. A rabbit hybrid, and a girl with pink hair. I nudged Grian and pointed to them.

"Sam and Yuki." He growled.

No. Not now.

"What do we do?" I asked Grian.

"You stay here, and keep an eye on them." Grian didn't take his eyes off the pair in the streets. "I'll get the others." He stood up and walked back inside.

I kept watching them. They made their way closer to the house, laughing. It didn't look like they were murderous- nope, never mind, both of them had bloody knives in their hands.

The sound of somebody coming onto the roof caught my attention. I turned around and saw Grian, with J and Wither.

"What do we do?" I asked.

J shrugged. "Don't ask me. I'm just the guy who pays for everything, not the leader."

Wither kept his eyes on the pair below. "We have to deal with them properly this time."

Grain nodded. "Agreed. Take out Yuki, that's our goal. Good luck guys."

Is it surprising to know that the plan fell apart almost instantly?

J stayed up on the roof, where he could deal with either if they got to close. Grain, Wither and I went outside to confront them.

We walked up to them on the street, and Sam's eyes flashed dangerously. Yuki held him back.

"One moment." She whispered. She focused her attention on us.

"Have you come to give us Taurtis?" She purred. I scoffed.

"As if. You aren't killing him, or anybody else." I snapped. Yuki's smile wavered.

"So you won't give in peacefully?" She looked at Grian, and hate filled her eyes. "And I see you've returned, Father." This made no sense to me, but Grian flinched.

"For the last time, he was a murderer. We had to kill him." Grian spoke softly. His eyes hardened as he continued. "But I see you haven't chosen to be different."

Yuki laughed, a bitter sound. "Your fault for not joining us. And now you die."

Sam lunged at Grian, knife flashing. I ran in front of him and intercepted the blade with my trident. Surprise lit up in Sam's eyes. I shoved him away from Grian.

"You good Gri?" I asked.

Grian opened his mouth to answer, but what came out was. "Mumbo, behind you!"

I turned, just in time to avoid Sam. Grian shoved his friend to the ground. The hybrid jumped to his feet, knife in hand-

A shriek cut through the night. We all turned to look at Wither and Yuki.

The knife was buried in her chest, blood seeping through her shirt.

"No... NOO!" Sam ran up and caught her as Yuki collapsed, eyes fluttering weakly.

"You'll be okay, just stay with me." Tears welled in Sam's eyes.

A final breath left Yuki's chest.

I don't know what I was expecting to happen next, but it wasn't Sam turning on us and yelling "I HATE YOU!!!"

Scooping up the limp form of Yuki, Sam edged backwards. "Stay away from me, you f*cking morons."

"Sam, listen." Grian tried to place a hand on his shoulder, but he jerked away.

"Get away from me a$$hole." He hissed, and Grian flinched away. "All of you, keep away unless you know what's good for you."

We walked away, stopping for a minute to look back. "Don't think this is over Grian. You will pay."

Sam POV

I sat alone in the ally, wiping a tear from my eye. Yuki was dead.

And it was Grian's fault.

It was Grian who needed to die.

A clatter from the end of the ally caught my attention, and I whirled around to face the person.

Tall, with cold eyes. An expensive looking suit. He reminded me of the Yakuza.

"What do you want?" I growled.

The man didn't flinch. "Sorry to disturb you, but I have a proposition to make."

He held out his hand. "My name is Nakuma. I work for a powerful man, who needs your help."

"Why me?" I asked, still wary.

Nakuma just smiled. "The Higher One has noticed you are quite the killer. Care to take down Grian and Mumbo for us?"
