A few minutes later, there was a knock at my door. Well, my apartment room that I was staying in for the month. When she opened the big door, Taylor and Carly stood in hats and glasses, trying to hide who they were.
Carly was in a pink loose top and skinny jeans while Taylor was in a white simple summer dress.
"Lets hit the city!" Taylor shrieked.
We all cheered in agreement then skipped out to the awaiting limo.We told the driver to take us to one of our favourite stores, Forever 21. If you look hard enough, you can find great clothes there. As soon as we parked, we jumped out and ran in after each other. We searched racks slowly until we each had an arm load of stuff. There was also a few luck girls that were in the store that recognised us and got our autographs while we were in line.
Soon we left, we headed to Le Chateau. It wasn't hard to find the stuff we liked, and in no time we were putting on dresses. Carly was in the change room first so me and Taylor tried on bizzare hats while waiting.
"Ooh! This is sooo you!" Taylor laughed and threw a pink flowery floppy hat at me.
I pretended to be amazed and put it on, gasping for effect.
"Its gorgeous!" Carly laughed.
Taylor and I turned around and our chins fell in shock. Carly was in a simple, yet stunning, blue dress that fit her perfectly. I was almost jealous of how good she looked!
"Dang girl!!'' I shouted jokingly.
Carly laughed and twirled in her dress.
"You're up Taylor! Get in there!" She grinned.
Taylor took her dress and hopped into the little changing stall. Not two minutes later, she skipped back out. Me and Carly clapped as she bowed dramatically. Her dress was white with a pink belt. It had sleeves and went down to just above her knees, similar to how Carly's was.
"Stop staring Darla! Its your turn!" She laughed.
I pouted and walked in. Taylor's and Carly's clothes were still in the ground by my feet and the dresses they didn't like were left on a rack.
I slipped out of my clothes and held up a few dresses to myself. I only had three but the baby blue one was already my favourite. I slipped it on and struggled with the zipper for a few minutes. As I was about to open the door, a flashing light caught my eye.
I picked up Taylor's phone and saw she had a new text. Without thinking, I opened it. Some friend I am, huh? It was from someone named Drake. 'I hope you have fun anyway' it said. Anyway? Fun? Did Taylor not enjoy this shopping trip?
I opened up the full conversation just to make sure everything was okay. Turns out, it wasn't about the shopping trip. Just some party she was attending.
I guiltily put down the phone. I know, I'm such a bad friend. Snooping on peoples phones. Its not something I usually do...
"Darla! Hurry up!" Carly screamed.
I dropped the phone and strutted out. Carly and Taylor went silent.
"Its.....Nice" Taylor smiled. It was obviously forced.
"Might be a bit reveling don't you think?" Carly asked.
"I think its fine!" I snapped and looked into the mirror.
Okay. It might be a tiny bit reveling. My breasted popped out and it was a bit short but other than that it was nice. It made me seem curvier and it brought out my eyes.
"See? Its perfect!" I snapped and went back into the change rooms.
We all changed then went to the check out. I bought my blue dress and they bought their stuff. I could tell they didn't like the dress but that was their problem. Not mine.
"Is that everything?" The cashier asked.
"I think-" I stopped mid sentence as a pair of red stilettos grabbed my attention.
I ran to them and picked them up. At the same time, another girl reached for the shoes. I looked at the older lady that didn't seem right for there shoes.
"May I have those shoes please?" She asked innocently.
"No, I'm getting them," I sneered.
A look of devastation crossed her face but was quickly replaced with anger. She stormed out of the store and at the same time, paparazzi ran in.
"Darla? Did you really just take those shoes from that woman?"
"What made you act that way towards her?"
People where screaming in my face. I hated it. I hated them all. I grabbed the shoes and dress, threw some cash at the cash register, and stormed out. Taylor and Carly were in the limo waiting for me but I was so angry, I just walked away. I heard them shout for me but I didn't stop. I walked as fast as I could to the nearest place I knew. Kevin's.
I knocked once. Twice. And finally, on the third knock, he opened the door to his house.
"Babe?" He yawned.
"Can I come in?" I asked as politely as I could.
"That's probably not a go-"
"Who's there?" A girly voice interrupted him.
I looked over his shoulder to see a young girl in his favourite T-shirt.
"Who's that?" I asked calmly.
"Look, I meant to talk to you but I-"
"Save it!" I snapped as I fought back tears.
He looked at me apologetically but it didn't matter. I was in a bad mood and the paps where about to try to destroy my career. He could have at least told me before I came over here!
I walked out, without another word, and got in a taxi. I cried my eyes out until nothing would fall. The driver stopped in front of my apartment and opened my door. I got out my purse to pay but before I could, he was shaking his head 'no' and driving away. I thanked him in my mind then stormed back to my room where I awaited my call from my manager who would yell and yell and yell.
After an hour of waiting, it rang. I cautiously picked it up.
"Hello?"
"Darla......" Stacy began. "What happened!? This isn't going to get you many votes for nicest singer."
"I know, I was just in a bad mood." I stated.
"You cant blame this on your mood. You still have control over that. Just cause your friends thought the dress was a bad choice, doesn't mean you have to go hate on the world!"
"You know what? You don't know what its like to have so much on your plate that you are ready to collapse!" I yelled.
"Ha! I have to deal with my own plate, plus yours! You try that for a day princess!"
I hung up the phone and threw it across the room. I wasn't always this bad! Some days I just want a break from the famous world! Like when I was a kid. Life seemed so easy when you are just singing along to the radio, not recording for the radio.
I grabbed the keys to my convertible that was in the underground parking and ran out the door. I planned on going to the bar. Hopefully, everyone was drunk enough to not recognize me.
I pulled out of the lot and drove as fast as I could. It was now dark and most people where asleep but not me. I was ready for a night of drinks.
As I waited for the lights to turn green, I looked in the make-up mirror. I was still looking good, just a bit of make-up smudges. I tried to wipe it away but ended up pocking my eye as the guy behind me honked. I assumed he meant to hurry up because the light was green but that wasn't it at all.
And then, it was dark.
