So we had some scrambled eggs and toast for breakfast. Victoria gave me many dirty looks and I tried my hardest to ignore them. I wouldn't doubt that she had spat in my food but I pretended to enjoy the eggs anyway. I don't know what I did to deserve these looks...something about a book club...but now that I can't remember I want so desperately to try to be this woman’s friend.
"So Ariel, Jake told me that you were in an accident. How long were you in the hospital?" Victoria asked.
"Um. Only a little while," I felt the guilt settle in instantly. The hospital has probably realised I'm gone and I'm curious to see what they do.
"So how about we watch the news?" Jake picked up a remote off the counter and a small TV lit up on the counter. He skimmed a few channels before stopping on the news.

The news reporter came one screen and began. "Today's weather is cold and rainy just like yesterday. The streets are backed up because of the accidents but the real story that everyone is dying to know about is the missing pop star. Darla Brooks was in the hospital after an accident and has been reported missing. She was either taken or had run off but the doctor doesn't suspect she could walk out on her own because the accident had done some serious trauma that has cause a few complications. Lets go have a word with her doctor."
The camera cut to Dr. Gale.
"Can you tell us about Darla?" The reporter asked.
"Yes. The accident has cause problems that I would not like to share to the press yet but the problems will make it complicated for her to be on her own in L.A. and isn't safe. She needs to come back immediately. Where ever she is, we need her here until she is fully recovered what is recoverable." He explained.
"Thanks Dr. We hope the world’s favourite pop star returns safely but until then, we better keep an eye out for the girl. Now on to the severe storm warnings in Canada."

The screen went black and we all sat in silence for a moment. Victoria and Jake had wide eyes that showed nothing but shock. They seemed to be searching for words but had none.
Finally I broke the silence, "I'm really sorry."
"How could you just run away from the hospital? Do you realise how much trouble you could get in?" Jake squeaked, obviously startled by my rebellious act.
"Ariel, you have caused this family too many problems already. This is just another thing to add to the list. I honestly don't want you around when my children are growing up. You’re a mess. Your whole life is messy. Just leave." Victoria spat.
"B-but where will I go?" I stuttered.
"Umm maybe....BACK TO THE HOSPITAL!" She shouted and shoved me toward the door. She picked up Brayden’s coat and flung it outside.
I walked out after it and picked it up off the damp sidewalk. The rain had already started and was quickly soaking my dress that I still had on. I ran to the nearest shelter source and found myself under a park play structure. I pulled on the jacket and continued running down the bare streets. Everyone else was smart and was staying indoors.
I had nowhere to go now. I thought about going back to the hospital but where would that go? Would I get in huge trouble with the cop because I ran away? Would I be locked up? I doubt it but it’s still an option.
Finally I arrived at another fast food restaurant. I sighed in relief and pulled on the door. It wouldn't budge. So I pushed it. It still refused to move. I grunted as I looked at a little slip of paper that was taped inside that read "Closed due to the weather".
