[this is kind of a short chapter; ch. 9 will be published right after this one. :) ]
Tamaki stared down at the paper— Cheeks flaming red.
"Amajiki-san, why are you blushing so hard? The note isn't for you, dummy. We just want you to read it." Nejire spoke.
"Um, y-yeah. I know. I just.. Uh— Hmm, yep." he cleared his throat mid sentence and continued staring at the note. He began reading it aloud for the four of you to hear together." Dear Anon,
Here's my number! <3
915-xxx-xxx
Though, I would like to meet in person. I'm kinda tired of writing, now soon to be texting. Meeting face to face and genuinely getting to know each other would be great! This flirty friendship could turn into something more maybe? Hopefully? So yeah. That's all I can muster up without falling to pieces from embarrassment. I've revised this stupid note multiple times with a close friend because i'm bad at words... Sentences... Just living in general, basically.
Love,
[Name]. ""Oh, w-wow... That's cute. And sweet. I love it." Tamaki grinned at you.
"Th-"
"Thank you! I wrote a good chunk of that." Nejire slapped a hand over your mouth.
You pulled her hand away from your mouth. "I am so tired of you doing that." you complained.
"Oh, what are ya gonna do? Send me to Antartica for a time out?"
"Bet."
You grabbed her arm and glitch-teleported to Antartica.
"Time out is five minutes." you smirked.
"NO IT'S SO COLD— TAKE ME BACK!" she shivered, voice panicked.
"Promise to stop interrupting me?"
"YES!"
"And promise to stop slapping your hand over my mouth so you can talk over me?"
"YES, OKAY, LET'S GO!"
"Sorry, what?"
"I PROMISE!"
"Okay, good."
You grabbed her arm again and glitch-teleported back to your picnic spot.
"I forgot you could do that." Nejire plopped back down onto the blanket.
"What just happened?" Mirio looked around puzzled.
"We learned a lesson on being annoying and interrupting people." you grinned, sitting back down in your previous position.
"Did you really take Hado-san to Antartica?" Tamaki tilted his head to the side, brows furrowed.
You reached over and placed your hand on his. "If you really wanna know, I can prove it." you smirked slightly.
He quickly pulled his hand away. "Ah— No?"
You cocked a brow.
He then placed his hand back with yours. "Y-Yes?" He looked back and forth between Mirio and Nejire. "Is this a trick question?"
Nejire and Mirio just looked at each other and laughed really hard.
"[Name] was just flirting a bit." Nejire gleamed.
"Oh... R-Really?" he eyes brightened as he gripped your hand.
"What? No. I was just," you glanced at Nejire before looking back to Tamaki, "messing with you."
Tamaki pulled his hand away, yet again, and frowned. "Oh.. Okay."
Mirio pulled him into a big hug. "It's okay, bud, we all get messed with every now and again. Especially me. Hado-san says i'm gullible." he then let go of Tamaki and shrugged at him.
"I didn't come her to be made fun of." Tamaki sighed and stood up.
"Amajiki-san, no one was making fun of you." you spoke up.
"Either way... You made me feel kind of, I don't know, bad? I-I..." he sighed, "I least expected it from you. Especially you." he took a few steps away from the picnic setup.
"I'll be home if you need me, Mirio."
A few minutes of awkward silence passed before Mirio spoke. "He never acts like this. I'm sorry, you two. I guess he's a little sensitive... Recently? I'm unsure why he's been taking things so rough." he stood up.
"Maybe if [Name] didn't hold his hand, Amajiki-san wouldn't have gotten offended." Nejire groaned.
"I was just— He asked— Ugh! Nejire why are you like this? You could've just stopped being obnoxious and let me talk to him and have a moment!" you scooted away from her, all childlike.
Mirio sighed. "Ladies, go home. Watch a movie together. Hang out. Make up. Just, don't fight. Trust me, it isn't worth losing a friend, even if it's just momentarily. I'm gonna go home and send Tamaki a text. I know he doesn't wanna be bothered, but I do need to check up on him." he gave a nod towards the both of you before leaving.
Nejire scooted close to you. "I'm sorry."
You turned your head away from her. "It's whatever."
She wrapped her arms around your side and sighed. "I was mean. Or 'a big fat meanie', if you'd prefer. Like Spongebob, remember?"
You grinned a bit. "Yeah."
"Why do we petty fight like this?"
You looked at her. "It's because we're dumb." you chuckled, making Nejire smile.
"Wanna hear something that'll make you feel better?" she spoke softly.
"Please."
"I think I know who Anonymous is."
