"Mew," Came a voice.

I sat up, bleary-eyed with sleep.

"Tikki? Is that-oof!" The little black kitten jumped on me.

Then I remembered everything from last night.

"Good morning, little kitten," I said, stroking his back. He purred and rubbed against me.

"I think he likes you," Tikki noted, sitting up on the small bed I'd made for her.

"Why hello little kitty," Tikki said, giggling as the kitten looked surprisingly at her.

The kitten came to Tikki and gave her a giant lick.

I laughed as Tikki giggled, wiping herself off with a towel.

The kitten ran back over to me, then I looked up at the sky. AHHH! The sun was starting to rise! I was gonna be late for work! Again!

I scrambled out of bed and hurriedly got dressed.

I did, however, slow down when I put my hair up. It was harder now since my hair was short. After many failed attempts, I finally got the wig on without any of my real hair showing.

I wished we had mirrors here like they have at the palace. Oh well, Tikki said it looked fine. That was enough for me.

I grabbed a small basket that held my food and started hurrying out of my room.

But the little black kitten followed me.

"No, you have to stay here," I said, gently pushing him back.

He hissed.

"Tikki...do you think you could stay with him?" I asked her.

She shook her head, "What if there's an Akuma?"

I sighed. She was right as always.

"Well, I'll have to take him with us. I don't think I can make up a believable story to tell my parents this morning. I'll have to later in the day though..." I gently picked up my kitty.

I slipped him in my basket and then me and Tikki hurried off.

"I'm headed to work Mama, Papa!" I called, grabbing a small loaf of sweet bread for breakfast.

"We'll see you later sweetie!" My Mama called.

"Be safe!" Called Papa.

"Have a nice day!" I said, running out the door.

"Oh, I'm gonna be late again Tikki!"

"You'll be fine. No one will notice if you're a few minutes late."

"Nathaniel will," For some reason that made me smile. I loved having my Chat Noir so close. I could talk to him now.

My basket lid came up as Kitten stuck out his head.

I frowned, I'd have to see about something for him to eat. I tore off some sweet bread to see if he'd eat it.

Nope.

I knew there was fish in the kitchens at the palace. Maybe I could sneak Kitten a small piece of fish.

Once I reached the palace, I hurried inside.

I ran to the storeroom and grabbed out a bucket, a few rags, and finally some wax.

I pumped water into my bucket and ran to find a space I needed to wash and wax that was private. I knew Kitten was dying to be let out of his basket.

I picked a small sitting room that no one ever used, then I took Kitten out of the basket.

He started running around the room, happy as a lark.
