The Egyptian Ladybug and her Chat

Chapter 24

I ran towards HawkMoth. Using my yoyo, I cleared my path. I saw Chat Noir attacking the villains head-on, but I knew that would never work. I had to cut off the source.

When I reached him, I was caught off guard. This couldn't be the man I'd met. This man was tired, run-down, looked...defeated...

But when he turned towards me, I saw his eyes. The same bone-chilling coldness was in them.

I took a fighting stance, "HawkMoth, you have caused enough trouble for me and my people. I have come for your miraculous," He scowled at me, "I'll give you one chance to surrender peacefully, and I promise nothing will happen to you."

"Never Ladybug! Don't you see? I have already won!"

"You have won nothing," I cried, launching my yoyo at him, and so our fight began.

HawkMoth wielded his staff with years of expertise. I was barely holding my own against him. But still, I fought. I was so close...this was the last thing I had to do. Once I beat him, I would be completely free. I wouldn't have to constantly worry about akumas, me and Adrien could have a normal relationship, I could stop hiding secrets from Alya.

My wants and dreams filled me and I fought harder. Suddenly, everything went quiet. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw the akumas had stopped. They weren't fighting anymore.

As soon as they stopped, HawkMoth became stronger. Then, there was a blinding flash of white butterflies, and HawkMoth caught me off guard. He hit me with his staff hard where Volpina had originally cut me. I let out a scream as I was thrown to the ground. Spots swam around my vision, as I watched in horror as Chat Noir ran to HawkMoth.

Then I blacked out.

"How dare you touch her!" I yelled, running at HawkMoth. Suddenly, I was caught from behind, "No no no little kitty. You're mine."

"Volpina! Let me go!" I cried, struggling against her.

"Not this time Chaton. You. Have. Lost," HawkMoth laughed, coming towards me.

Then he reached for my ring, "Cataclysm!" I cried.

HawkMoth retracted back, then laughed again, "You think that will stop me?"

He took a small rock from the ground and made me touch it. The rock was instantly destroyed.

Then, Hawk Moth took my ring.

As I came to, I watched in horror as Chat Noir became Adrien.

No, no, no, no, no! This was bad!

I started to get up, but suddenly, Carapace and Rena Rouge rushed to me.

Carapace picked me up, "LB, we gotta get you out of here!"

"No! What about Chat Noir?"

Rena looked over and saw Adrien with HawkMoth, "Oh no! They've got Adrien!" She cried.

"He'll be fine! But we need to go! Chat Noir will meet us, I'm sure," Nino said, and he and Alya started running.

"No! You don't understand. Adrien is Chat Noir. My Chat Noir!" I cried.

Nino and Alya stopped. Nino muttered a curse and Alya copied it. But then they shared a look..and kept running.

"Let me go! They have him! They have Chat Noir!" But they ignored me and kept running.
