Chapter 5-Be With You

Nino's Pov:-

I was playing Niji's tune on piano. Yes, practicing for our concerts which are starting from day after tomorrow. There are lots of things I've to rehearse, yet I am playing Niji since half an hour. For this time, my fingers start playing the music more intensely, my eyes closed. I was feeling my heart beating with every tune of piano. And that each tune brought me back each and every memory of Naho.

-----Flashback Start-----

I was running as fast as I can. I was already wet due to sweat as the summer sun was shining brightly. "Why?" you ask. I was late for meeting Naho. Yesterday, I promised to treat her ice-cream. But thanks to Matsumoto-kun's stubbornness for a bit more practice of dance, I ended up getting late and now here I'm running in the scorching heat.

"Too hot!" I stopped just few steps away from our spot, panting heavily.

I knelt down, my hands resting on my knees.

But something cooled me down, my body as well as my soul. It was her shadow. I looked up at her and stood erect.

"You're late!" she was standing a bit away from me. She had this childish pout on her face.

"Sorry!" I apologized joining my hands in front of her. "Really sorry!"

"Then," she smiled, "Come here!" she gestured.

I started walking towards her. She was walking away, facing towards me.

"Kazu, Look!" she pointed towards the ground, "Our shadows are overlapping."

We both stopped. I looked at the ground, "Ah! That's true!" We both giggled.

"Hurry up! Ice-cream is waiting!"

I laughed as I ran towards her. And we started walking down to the park.

"Don't be late next time, Kazu! Or I'll punish you!"

"Eh?"

"Hm!"

"Liar!" I laughed.

"Really!"

"Let's see!" I smirked.

"You're terrible!" she hit me playfully.

But we enjoyed the time hand in hand.

Since the day we parted, I always pray for her happiness. I hope she is safe and sound and happy wherever she is. I know she is always spreading happiness with her kind and gentle nature, I hope she is smiling for herself from bottom of her heart.

As I pray for her, my fingers stop playing the piano, my eyes are closed and my lips slowly curve into a small smile. I smile widely as I feel the breeze against me, cooling down my soul. I miss her. I miss her a lot.

"Naho!" my lips end up whispering her name one again, sadly and a teardrop fell off my left eye.

I open my eyes wishing to see her here in front of me. But she is not here and it eats me from inside.

"Why we had to part when our beautiful friendship had just started? Why?" It's painful, missing her like this.

"Why?"

"It will be fine, Nino-chan!"

I turn around to see Aiba-san walking towards me, smiling gently. Care and kindness is always sparkling in this guy's eyes.

"Aiba-kun, why are you here?"

"I just wanted to see if my Sobu Line mate is doing fine or not. I heard from Sho-chan that you were all alone for 2 days. Shutting yourself up alone won't change things, Nino."
